That almost makes me feel better...
Anyone notice that on the second map I put up the UP of Michigan isn't colored in?
That kinda irks me. I don't know...I'm just a perfectionist.For Milbut

Re: What Region Of The United States Do You Live In Now?
How are Nebraska and Kansas not midwestern? They are directly in the middle of the country....they can't be southern states, they definitely aren't in the west (although the very, very western part of Nebraska has more in common with Wyoming and Colorado than the rest of the state does) and they aren't in the south. But the people who live in Nebraska are your prototypical Midwesterners.Last edited by Herbsinator; 04-04-2008, 01:58 AM.Comment

The difference between these Plains states and ones in the Midwest (Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin and Minnesota) is that they don't touch the Great Lakes and therefore don't have the high industrial/factory background like them. Cities like Cleveland, Akron, Detroit, Gary, Chicago, Milwaukee, Minneapolis all have a mill/factory history based on the Great Lakes and natural resources. In other parts of those states there is farming...sure...but The Great Plains is ALL farming. For Milbut
