    Fans of R&B/Soul Music

I absolutely love R&B/Soul music. I can't explain it...but when I hear that great song it just takes control of me.

I mean when you really hear and feel a song.

It's easy to find new underground hip-hop artists and everything because everyone is doing it nowadays. However finding those new R&B artists is pretty challenging. So if you have some good guys post them here. I really want to discover some new sounds and hear as many great artists that I can.

I'll start some by posting some songs I feel are classics in this genre...

I'm gonna copy X-Cell with this...

        Ray J "All I Feel

        Grade: F

Honestly this album is terrible. "Sexy Can I" is the only song I'm keeping from this entire album. I guess you could keep "Real ******" too...it's virtually the same song as "Go Getta" from AZ. Makes sense because they are both with the same label.

Anyways I was a fan of Raydiation, hit last album, I think that was his first as well. The lyrics are absolutely terrible and "Sexy Can I" is the only song that is even fun to listen to.

I wouldn't even recommend wasting your time listening to it.

Gimmicky would be the perfect word to describe the album.

"Sexy Can I" just gets me because it's fun in the club...and when on a run or something it's nice to listen to. The lyrics are pretty garbage though. It's just catchy...and I'll get tired of it in about 2 days.

I was talking to my barber the other day about this song and how catchy it was.

He said, "With Ray J, you know what you're going to get. One good song and the rest is trash."

                          Looks like he was right.

Ah Maxwell...I think he has a new CD coming out soon that's the first part of a trilogy right?

Anyways there are some good songs these days but my one complaint about the genre these days is that most of the guys all sound the same. It's not even really all that great singing either. That's not to say they don't have talent because they do it's just that it's so cookie cutter. I also miss using, you know real instruments. I mean soul music shouldn't be pre-packaged IMO.

That's why I always liked Maxwell. He really stood out above the rest and had a decidedly old school sound both musically and vocally.
