I listened to the new Lyfe album and I honestly wasn't very happy with it. His sound went pop IMO and the lyrics weren't very good at all.

Musiq is probably the most consistent artist out there. All his material is QUALITY

Oh and Ne-Yo has his album coming out June 24th

Here's one of my favorite songs most have never heard of:

Gave it a listen and it's alright.

You all know you like the Love in this club song. Obviously minus the jeezy part because that is TERRIBLE!

        Some other nice songs...

Trading places - talks about man/woman reversing roles with dating/sex. I laughed a couple times but it was because some stuff was pretty clever.

Best Thing ft. Jay-z : Definitely going to be the next single. Jay-z's verse is well put together and the song is really catchy.

Appetite : I love the beat.

Then there are some songs about his new relationship which can relate to most relationships so they're nice as well.

15 tracks and I'll have 6-8 in rotation. Still need a few more listens.

Verdict: Definitely worth a listen if you like his older stuff. However it doesn't come close to Confessionals or 8701.

I knew that was the song you were going to post....lol That's one of the greatest displays of writing I've heard in R&B in a long time.

On another note, R. Kellys career seems to be over with.

I haven't listened to the whole thing in part because I can't stop listening to This Ain't Sex and Appetite. Is it just me or does Appetite sound like a Chris Brown song?

Speaking of Marvin, I was ripping his albums to my laptop last night and was reading up a little bit on wiki...talk about depressing. It seemed like he was depressed most of his career and threatened to quit multiple times. Sad story.

Yeah man, to be honest though, I think that's why I like his music so much.

                        Re: Fans of R&B/Soul Music

Tendrils he was a tortured genius but like his official biographer said in his biography of Marvin he was "the voice of an angel trapped in the body of a man". His life was the canvas upon which he painted the music of the soul of mankind. It's why I love his music above anything else. He had the transcendent ability to take some of the most heart wrenching topics and moments of life and turn it into something beautiful that truly touches the listeners' heart.

If you haven't, I suggest checking out David Ritz's DIVIDED SOUL biography of Marvin Gaye. It's a bit dated now but it's the best primary source biography of Marvin's life. Also check out Michael Eric Dyson's "biocriticism" of Marvin in the book MERCY MERCY ME: THE ART, LOVES AND DEMONS OF MARVIN GAYE. That book is one of the most fair and balanced looks at Marvin and his music.

At least when he talks about some of the more psychological aspects he doesn't come off as a prick like Steve Turner did in his bio. Also if you have any questions just holler at me. I know a lot and could give some insight.

I thought that when his lyrics were reduced to "You remind me of my jeep."

And again when he said he was doing gospel music.

And again when the allegations were brought against him.

And again when Jay Z bitched him and basically had him removed from his own concert in Madison Square Gardens, and he was crying on the radio talking about it.

Dude's like a cockroach... just won't die, lol.

It's almost insulting to say Usher sounds like CB but I have to agree.

I don't see it as insulting when CB reminds me of a young Usher anyhow.
