Re: The Official BlackBerry Thread
So my Curve came in today, been playing with this thing for the last two hours. I like a ton, it's one bad *** device, I just need to figure out some of the basics.
1. How do you change your ringtones? I see the options to view the different tones but no option to assign them to anything.
2. The Blackberry Internet Service Option for setting up email does not exist in the setup wizard as the booklet says. Getting my email set up is my highest priority right now and I'm at my wits end already.
3. I remember someone saying you can change the icons/shortcuts that appear on the home screen - how is this done?
4. When you add a new contact in the address book there are separate fields for first and last name, is there a way to sort your contacts by last night instead of the default first name?
5. I do not see a Browser option anywhere to access the web. Do I have to add an application for this?"You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier

Re: The Official BlackBerry Thread
What about a universal change? Say I want all email to have tone A, all calls to have tone B, all texts to have tone B, etc."You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier

Re: The Official BlackBerry Thread
I've had the Pearl for awhile, but it's a little torn up. (Lost a couple of cases while... a bit "out of it" and cracked it up pretty good...) I have insurance on it, so I'm thinking about dropping $125 and picking up the Bold (AT&T).Comment

Re: The Official BlackBerry Thread
You can set the default for emails, sms, mms, etc under the profile. So if you go to the profile as if you are going to change it, then go to advanced, then hit the menu button when you are on the profile you want (say normal) it will give you an option to edit.
Once in edit, you have the option to change the tone for each type of message/call.
I'm sure I made that more confusing than it could be.Comment

Re: The Official BlackBerry Thread
Yeah, I did figure out the profile thing but as NoleFan said you still need to change it for each individual account. It's not the end of the world though."You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier

Re: The Official BlackBerry Thread
I end up leaving mine on one setting with most every notice via vibration or none at all. Since my phone sits right beside my computer, I don't want to see reminders going off on my phone for a meeting as well as on the computer. That was really annoying me for the first few days...Comment

Re: The Official BlackBerry Thread
I broke my new 8900 a few days ago...lol. Well it wasn't broken, the phone still worked. I was trying to remove the 256mb microsd card and was having a tough time. I got some tweezers and while trying to remove it, I broke the card in half and the other half was still in the card slot...lol. I can laugh now but it wasn't funny. I called T-Mobile and they offered a replacement since I was still in my 14 day window. I got it yesterday and easily removed the card and installed my 8GB microSD card. Re: The Official BlackBerry Thread
I gotta say I'm not a huge fan of this whole 'profile' scheme for the ringtones. I know options are nice but this seems insanely overdone."You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier

Re: The Official BlackBerry Thread
I have a question about applications, I DL'd a couple (Facebook, Pocket Express, etc) but now I can't find them to run them. If I go under Options > Advanced > Applications and view the application list both appear there, but I can never find the icon from the normal menu. Where did these disappear to?"You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier
