Who here likes Classical Music?

Just wondering. I've been beginning to get more interested in it. Who are your favorite composers? Favorite songs?

I like Pagini, Mendelssohn, Bach, and Vivaldi. More to come later.

I've been a big Carl Orff fan since I was about 12 or 13. I don't really have any other favorites though but I enjoy listening to the genre, especially in the morning.

I do.

Lately I've listening to Bach, Vivaldi, Corelli, Mozart, Wagner, Tchaikovsky, Korsakov. Listening to a lot of cello solos lately too.

I like Vivaldi and Tchaikovsky too. Since I play violin I have a bit of a bias to violin solos though.

I also like: Schindler's List by Itzhak Pearlman, and the Sibelius Concerto.

I kinda listen some classical, mainly when I'm trying to relax. For the most part, though, I only listen to Hector Berlioz

How did you become interested in classical music?

Personally, I started listening several years ago. When growing up, I can remember my father mainly listened to classical and I absolutely hated it. For some reason in my late 20s I just started listening out of the blue and really enjoyed it. Came as a complete shock.

So I 'blame' my father. Something must have stuck when listening as a kid even though I hated it back then.

The PC game Europa Universalis got me into classical music, that game has some awesome music on it. I don't even know what composers I like but I often listen to classical music stations.

Elementary & middle school, and then a music class my sophomore year in college were all small reasons why I started to listen to some classical

The PC game Europa Universalis got me into classical music, that game has some awesome music on it. I don't even know what composers I like but I often listen to classical music stations.

Ahhh so many hours logged on EU. I had to actually give that game up cold turkey however many years ago it was, otherwise I would have never slept.

That got me thinking and I'd also have to say the movie Master & Commander helped to push me into liking classical music even more.

As I kind of said earlier I'm a classically trained violinist. I just play as a hobby. At first I didn't like the classical but as I got better I got more into the music.

Classical is very good soothing music, I like to listen to it to relax after a stressful day or just when I want some quite with a little background music. I like Bach, Dvorak, Chopin, and of course the lovely lovely Ludwig Van

I love Classical music. I'm more of a fan of "darker" tones in my classical music, though. Anyone have any suggestions?
