LMAO! Good one. How is it ignorant to say you won't buy or listen to his album? Who the hell is Lil Wayne anyway? He must've made a deal with the devil because he was just the annoying sounding bastard from the Hot Boyz. Now people are kissing his feet.

I wouldn't say he made a deal with the devil, but Cash Money made a deal with that Philly boy to write all of Tha Carter 1 and 2.Comment

I wouldn't call him garbage by any means. Garbage is soulja boy like someone else said. Garbage is puffy, franchise boys, or any other copycat song of whats supposed to be "hot".
I think he puts out way too much stuff. Yes it does show he has a passion for music but it oversaturates the market which can kill any artist.
Do those record sales include itunes?Comment

He doesn't even care about New Orleans.Originally posted by BlzerLet me assure you that I am a huge proponent of size, and it greatly matters. Don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise.
If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)Comment

He must've cause nobody I knew was talking about him for his rapping, everybody just talked about him having a nice car when he was young. He was never all that important in new Orleans but now all of a sudden people think he's the best alive.Originally posted by BlzerLet me assure you that I am a huge proponent of size, and it greatly matters. He's taking the Jay Z approach; spend your whole career rapping about nothing, then just keep saying you're the best until an army of Stans start believing you.Comment

LOL you guys kill me....
If Lil Wayne was underground and was named "MC Deep Knowledge" or "Kinetic Energy" or something like that yall would probably think he was dope...the urge to "rage against the mainstream machine" is hilarious around here
some of dudes lyrics make me cringe, others make me rewind...either way, opinions aside....hes killing it right now- I respect him..not near the greatest, but I think hes got alot of talent...and obviously knows how to sell recors which alot of people arent doing right now....Comment

Re: Lil Wayne's "Carter III" expected to move 1 mil units in first week!
Nobody really has a problem with Lil Wayne as a rapper. He's a decent rapper who was a solid 5th option on the old Hot Boys and Big Tymers albums, but then got a little over inflated in the head by Gillie's lyrics, and seemingly thought that he was a great rapper. I think Tha Carter 1 was a damn good album, Carter 2 was pretty solid, and like everyone else in the south, I played out 2 copies of Dedication 2 in the Summer of 06, but he's hardly been anything close to the best rapper anywhere.
Since the ghostwriting has stopped, he's become a complete mixtape artist. On a mixtape, it's acceptable to have a ratio of 1 hot line to every 5 horrible lines, but on an album, you're supposed to expect better. If he didn't have an army of Stans, he'd be a pretty decent rapper, but the fact is he does have an army of Stans who seem to believe that he's the "best rapper alive."Comment

That's good to see Wayne is moving units. This proves that fans still buy albums. I bought it and I'm satisfied. Not a classic, but it was worth the mere $9 I paid for itXbox 360 GamertagRAW 910

I'm not really sure that's true. Personally, my favorite rappers are the Wu Tang Clan, Nas, Fabolous, and the Boosie/Webbie/Foxx group, not exactly a collection of underground artists rapping about anything aside from the typical stuff.

You can say it all you want, but its not a magic spell....the fact that you can create "Stans" itself requires a little more than just SAYING your the best...and for that I give him credit..dude has and continues to put out some good work IMOComment

It's also funny how people get mad about his label as the best rapper alive. Which confuses me. Shouldn't everyone feel that they are the best at their respective craft? I can name a boatload of rappers that claim to be the best.
And someone in this thread commented saying his fans have poor taste in music. How can someone's music taste be poor? That's equivalent to me saying my taste in food is poor because I don't eat peanut butter. Is taste not all about personal preference?Xbox 360 GamertagRAW 910

I was talking about his Hot Boy years. Before he got his ghostwriter no one cared about him. Bourbon Street isn't really the best place to see what locals think anyway.Originally posted by BlzerLet me assure you that I am a huge proponent of size, and it greatly matters.
