Not really, if he actually sounded like he had a brain maybe more people on here would like him. He tries to be deep but he's really not at all.

It's also funny how people get mad about his label as the best rapper alive. Which confuses me. Shouldn't everyone feel that they are the best at their respective craft? I can name a boatload of rappers that claim to be the best.

And someone in this thread commented saying his fans have poor taste in music. How can someone's music taste be poor? That's equivalent to me saying my taste in food is poor because I don't eat peanut butter. Is taste not all about personal preference?
Who said anything about Wayne feeling that he's the best? He was talking about his fans who make him out to be the best.

I just don't care for his ****. But I don't care for many of these rappers out there now. It's all horse**** to me. Turned me away from rap altogether. Roach Boy can sell his albums and develop stalkers all he want. Cool beanies. He just doesn't have a fan in me. And I think he can live with that.

I would like to iterate that I don't even think dude is a terrible artist, I just think this album is pretty terrible. I just think he's been in mixtape mode so much that he can't put together a cohesive piece of work.

Where are you getting the idea that people on here don't like mainstream stuff because it's mainstream? I don't like a vast majority of it because I think it's terrible music and I'm sure for most people they feel the same way. I wish some of the underground artists that I'm a fan of would be mainstream so people could hear something other than what's being played 24/7. As far as Wayne I know he's doing fine but that's irrelevant. Just like he doesn't care about people who don't like him he won't give a **** if one of his dickriders defends him on a message board(not talking about you).

some of dudes lyrics make me cringe, others make me rewind...either way, opinions aside....hes killing it right now- I respect him..not near the greatest, but I think hes got alot of talent...and obviously knows how to sell recors which alot of people arent doing right now....
thats the thing...he's not really consistent but in his eyes he thinks he is really dropping some knowledge....on the end of one of the songs on the Carter 3 he talks for like 2-3 mins about social issues ...I was listening to it like "this guy really thinks he's smart"

And it has nothing to do with being mainstream. Good music is good music, whether the masses love it or not. Like Soldier said, Dedication 2 was a banger and there were some joints on the Carter 1 & 2 but I'm just not feeling this one too much.

                        LOL @ these names.

Real talk, if Wayne was underground, I'd never even heard of him. Because I only listen to mainstream music. I've only listened to TWO underground artists in my life. Little Brother (the least underground of the underground), and Kidz In the Hall (because they are from Chicago).

So before you go into the "you're a *****, just because he's mainstream", 98% of the music I listen to and all of my favorite artists are mainstream.

Nas, Lupe Fiasco, Royce Da 5'9", Wu-Tang Clan, Rakim, Jay-Z, Notorious B.I.G., AZ, Kanye West, The Game, Mobb Deep, The Lox, Fabolous, Cassidy, Common, 50 Cent, Eminem, The Roots, NERD, The Bad Boy Family, Dipset, Joe Budden, Talib Kweli, etc.

Wayne is highly overrated and sounds like garbage to me. Call me a *****, look for the "hidden" or "real" reason behind it. But it is nothing more or less than the music. I have an East Coast/ Midwest preference in the music I listen to (see above) and I admit that, but Weezy has never appealed to me, and I never understood how he became appointed the next Jay. I guess I co-sign the "haters"

Well...I purchased Dr. Carter off iTunes. I liked it. So flame me for that.

And people, ITS MUSIC. Everyone has different tastes in music. If you looked in my Jeep right now, you'd see a Lil' Wayne CD right next to a Breaking Benjamin CD. Find me a big group of people who have that in their regular 5 CD rotation right now.

Don't hate on someone because of their taste in music. And don't judge them either. Music speaks differently to everyone. And its not something you can control.
