The problem is what midnight do you start it at? The East coast? because technically it's still the day prior in the West. The West Coast? I'm not going to be up at 3 am to download a web browser with a terrible feature like the awesome bar. What about Europe? It would 6-9 am over there.

This way, it's 10 in the Pacific, 1 over here and late in the day in Europe. Lots of bases covered there. Good start time IMO for an event like this... even if I won't be downloading it.

Those graphs are always without extensions, those will always bloat FF. The new Opera that came out last week (9.5). Is great, though it still has problems with sites coded towards IE instead of towards web standards.

Wow, I've been playing with this all morning and you're absolutely right. Opera has come a long way! Reminds me much of Netscape Navigator 4.7, one of my favorite browser releases ever.

It's seems even faster than Firefox...

EDIT: scratch that; you can't disable the same exact feature I hate from Firefox3, auto searching of bookmarks through the address bar.

Wow, I've been playing with this all morning and you're absolutely right. Opera has come a long way! Reminds me much of Netscape Navigator 4.7, one of my favorite browser releases ever.

What really is the point in that? If I wanted to go to a bookmark mark I would have click on the bookmark. I would not have started to type in the address.

I don't understand it either. It's supposed to improve "productivity" according to the FF developers. I was on their forum (as well as others) asking to have the feature at least have an enabled/disabled option but they said it's not possible. Bull, as it was in the earlier builds (up until Beta2, IIRC).

I will continue to use my old browsers as I have bookmarks for a reason. It's too intrusive if you ask me.

Does anyone know if it looks any different?

Also, one feature i love is when Firefox crashes and you restart it the next time it loads everything how it was before. I'd like an actual "shutdown and save all my stuff how it is now" feature. Or hell, is this something in the current Firefox and I've never even known it?

The way I do it now is I just leave Firefox running and shut down my PC and then the next time I fire up Firefox it will restore everything. Seems kind of silly though I can't close it manually (and properly) and simply save all my work that way.

If the RC is the same as the final product, it will look different than Firefox 2

You can download the RC, it's essentially the same except the final will be called "Final" lol.

As for saving what pages you were viewing and what not, you can do that now, via the Session manager under Tools.

I use XP so while it looks a bit different it's not a huge change. It's actually a nice little refreshing of the current FF package.
