    1. about:config
    2. change entry "ui.key.contentAccess" from 5 to 4
    3. change entry "ui.key.chromeAccess" from 4 to 5

so i think, oh ok, i'll just do that since that fixed it in 2.0. well i do that and it did NOT fix it. when I am done typing a post now I hit ALT-S and the page just moves down a little..the post doesn't send.

anyone know how the hell to fix this? this will drive me nuts for posting here.
Please let me know if you find out how to fix this.

Odogg, I just found out that alt-shift-S works for replies.

Mozilla said in their support forum the onus is on Microsoft to update their Hotmail Live to work with Firefox. That doesn't sound promising.

That's what they told me and I even tried that and it just moves the page down for me. But to be honest I don't want to use Alt-Shift-S anyways, especially on a laptop. Surely there has got to be some way to get Alt-S working again!

here is what someone posted (another user) on the mozilla forum in case anyone is interested:

It looks like what happens is the Alt-S (after applying the "FF2 fix") just changes the focus to the appropriate button. If I hit alt-S I see the focus change and then hit "space" to complete the post.

It's not ideal, I admit. They must have broken something.

BTW, the Shift-Alt-S seems to just change the focus as well.

We are on 3.6.8 Patch Level 2.

Alt-Shift-S works fine for me when using quick reply by the way.

Hmm..well that's odd, i thought maybe it was just me but in my last post the user says that it just changes the focus as well for them...

That doesn't really matter to me anyways, i'm not going to use Alt-Shift-S. I guess i'm stuck using IE until this is resolved. At least on my laptop I won't be doing much overall browsing anyways, it's mostly for when I travel.

Thank God I found this out on there though instead of installing on my desktop and finding it out. I would have had been really pissed!

If you go to Tools, and then Options, uncheck everything under history and the "awesome bar" will only suggest your bookmarks, not sites you have already been to.

If you're not a touch typist then I don't imagine it would. Also, i've been coming here to OS for 5 years and when I am done typing a post it's just natural for me to hit Alt-S. Not go over to my mouse, scroll around looking for the SUBMIT REPLY button and click on it. Much quicker just to hit Alt-S, not to mention now it's ingrained to how I use this and many other sites.

I finally removed most of the "awesomeness" of the Not-So-AwesomeBar.

                              (1) Install the oldbar 1.2 extension.
                              (2) Go to "about:config" (via the address bar).
                              (3) Scroll down to "browser.urlbar.matchOnlyTyped."
                              (4) Double click to set this to "true."

Dash: [muttering] Which is another way of saying no one is.

Can you do me a big favor and post a screen cap of what the bar looks like now (after the changes you made) when you're typing in it or clicking the drop down?

I don't want to install this thing again if it doesn't disable it.
