Last time I checked, you were a *****, and to me wearing that shirt means you are either a sheep following a trend from them New York area cats who think their style of hip hop should be the only one, or you are simply don't know what the hell you are talking about.

When you hate on the South (and let's be real, that's all the whole "Hip Hop is Dead" nonsense is about) just because you don't like the style, and disregard other people's opinions who do like it, that's both hating on hip hop and ignorant.

First of all, I don't think everyone's opinions are equal on music. I'm not saying that mine is better than yours but some are better than other's. I'm sorry, but I think pharrell or Dr. Dre's opinion on Hip-Hop than mine or yours.
There's a lot of hip hop that I don't like, but I wouldn't put Dr. Dre's opinion on something as subjective as music over your's or anyone else's.

Ok, so wait a second here. So music is subjective and everyone's opinion on music should be counted the same, but me and the "new york area cats" are wrong because we don't like southern rap? Is that what you are saying? You can't have it both ways.

I don't like southern rap, I think everyone across the country (there are exceptions) tries to make their music sound like it is from the south because the south moves units. I think that has ruined hip hop. Commercialization and mass produced (false)creativity have ruined hip hop. Ultimately, money has ruined hip hop, if you want me to be completely honest.

Please explain how "hating" on the south also means that I'm "hating" on hip hop? LOL, we see the same thing in college football. There is a world that exists above the mason-dixon line.

So, just because you don't like the south's rap game it automatically means hiphop is dead?

No, read, I never said you are wrong to dislike southern hip hop. Saying Hip Hop is dead just because the South is what's hot right now is what's wrong. That's not just saying "I don't like such and such, I don't listen to it". That's just hating. Don't take it as an insult though, it just is what it is. You might not consider yourself a *****, but you've been hating. Where do you see me trying to have something both ways exactly?

Lol, money has ruined hip hop? Hip hop artists have been making money for a long time now, when did you decide to listen? As for false creativity, lol, whatever man. Like Willie D said, It's some trash in the South but I promise you, from the East to the West, some of y'all garbage too.

Please explain how "hating" on the south also means that I'm "hating" on hip hop? LOL, we see the same thing in college football. There is a world that exists above the mason-dixon line.
Because the south is as much a part of hip hop as any other part of the country or world. Saying Hip Hop is dead is just a way to hate on the south. That's what it has always been about.

It's nothing like college football. I don't recall a movement from anyone stating football is dead because the SEC has taken the championship home the past couple of years.

Re: What does this shirt mean to you?

every time i see or hear hip-hop is dead, i think of that has-been publicity stunt loser Nas and how he has loss any and all respect for me. i know people were saying hip-hop is dead because they did not like the music coming out(even though i did not like what was there back in the day but i never said hip-hop was dead) but when you say it out in public and make t-shirts and name your album it, your just trying to spark hatred from the people who actually enjoy it. as far as im concerned that shirt is just real life trolling.

what reason would I have to be a "*****." Just because I don't like southern rap, doesn't make me a *****. To me, ***** implies that I have some sort of inferiority complex or something. I have no personal vendetta against southern hip hop, I just think it sounds like dog poop (and other people agree with me). Everyone in the world can listen to all of the crappy southern rap they want, but I'm entitled to my opinoin that I think they are idiots for doing so. It's MY OPINION.
Look, I understand you love southern hip hop. You grew up listening to artists from the south, so obviously you are going to be more familiar with them. Whatever. I'm from the Nebraska...I hold no allegiance to any region of rap, whether it be East coast, West coast, Chicago, southern or where ever else.....it's all the same to me.

Lol, money has ruined hip hop? Hip hop artists have been making money for a long time now, when did you decide to listen? As for flase creativity, lol, whatever man. Like Willie D said, It's some trash in the South but I promise you, from the East to the West, some of y'all garbage too.
You don't think record companies have figured out the formula by now? Put a garbage MC over a garbage southern rap beat and voila....$$$$.

                    Ahem, Soulja Boy.

Because the south is as much a part of hip hop as any other part of the country or world. Saying Hip Hop is dead is just a way to hate on the south. That's what it has always been about.
Please re-read this. The argument you are making is absurd. So because I hate one part of a thing means that I hate the whole thing?

It's nothing like college football. I don't recall a movement from anyone stating football is dead because the SEC has taken the championship home the past couple of years.
It is EXACTLY like college football...for some reason people from the south act like their **** doesn't stink.

I honestly think you are misreading the shirt. The statement the shirt makes isn't "hip hop sucks" or "I hate hip hop." I see the statement as "I love hip hop, but I wish that it would get better"

Re: What does this shirt mean to you?

Same could said about Mid West and West Coast and cookie cutter rappers from the East coast.... People need to get off their high horse when being critical of southern rappers... If we judged the quality of music by what the kids say is hot Kriss Kross would be RUn DMC status... Chicken Noodle with a Soda on the side is EAST coast so it 50 Cent and GUnit plastic arse and the marriage of the Hip Hop and R&B started on the EAST which not only help water down Hip Hop with all these weak arse duets aka the Ja Rule affect but it also destroyed true R&B music...So give a me a break talking about the south ruined hip hop

Corporate America has controlled hip hop once it became econmically viable almost 2 DECADES ago. So if anything killed hip hop it was the corporate machine that crushed the creativity of artist and stunted their growth because inpatient executives need a quick turn over or you bounced from a label. MTV BET killed hip hop when YO MTV Raps gave way to 106 and Park TRLs of the world.

I may not like every hip hop artist, but I appreciate the music no matter where it's from. I don't even really care where it's from. If I don't like it, then I don't like it. I don't have to resort to silly trendy statements declaring the whole genre dead simply because I don't like a certain sound. I don't say "Television is dead" because of the success of reality shows.
