So, I've had the new Avett Brothers album for awhile, but finally gave it some spins the past couple of days and it is an awesome album. Great stuff.

Saw them live at the Ryman on Halloween here in Nashvegas. Probably my favorite concert of all time. Simply unreal, so much energy, but controlled. And the best harmonizing vocals

I saw them open for the Drive-By Truckers and they were probably the best opening band I have seen. So much energy in all of their songs its unreal - they do not slow down or let up at all. I know they broke at least one kick drum.

They are good. Thanks for sharing them. We almost named my second son Seth. First son's name is Scott. I like the way Scott and Seth sound together. I guess I was not alone!

Tim McGraw - Southern Voice. Can't stop listening to this song! It's not exactly like the old country music, which I really like, but it's good stuff!

I went out and bought the album back in December. It's a GREAT album.

He's coming to Longhorns Saloon w/ Johnny Cooper in Manhattan, KS March 11th.

I'm pretty excited for both of the shows! Longhorns pulls in a LOT of great talent. Casey Donahew Band was just there this past Thursday too!

Anybody seen the previews for Crazy Heart? It was originally planned to be a biopic about Merle Haggard, but the cost to the rights was too expensive so the director decided on an original story. Jeff Bridges stars. I would love to see it.

It's a concert blitz right now.. I'm also going to see George Strait and Reba McEntire in St. Louis February 18th!

The film's main character is based on a combination of Waylon Jennings, Kris Kristofferson and Merle Haggard? Yes please!



PS. I don't know how many of you check Rotten Tomatoes for movie reviews and critiques.. but for what it's worth, Crazy Heart has gotten rave reviews so far! 93% as of now!

Unfortunately the film isn't being played locally for me - probably have to wait to see it on blu-ray. I did, however, pick up the soundtrack at Amazon. The Weary Kind is an awesome song.
