Re: Official Hip Hop/Rap Music Thread

This **** is gonna get real grimey and dirty, now.

Of course, Drake couldn't keep it to bars and Hip-Hop so he's gotta throw in the tabloid **** (I know they've both eluded to gossipy stuff).

Gotta give that record a second listen later, but at least he said more that "your short, have small feet and a bad record deal." [emoji2377]

    Kendrick fires back: https://youtu.be/yKsBKXrpMhg?si=Tk2fVcDs2UfetyRl

    Beef over!

K-Dot went there, so Drake better jump on the phone and end this ****, and the beef is over.

They weren't lying when they said Kendrick has a lot in the chamber and was just waiting on Drake. Drake better tap out. Kendrick going for his soul, he is not messing around. Now I know why J Cole just stepped aside.

Drake actually did something with Family Matters but Kendrick just stomped all over it. He did more damage against everyone else, my favorite part is definitely the 2nd verse. He should've saved it for a separate song and put them out together. He really should've focused on Kendrick.

As far as Meet the Grahams...dear God. First of all, the beat, just perfection, Alchemist did what needed to be done, just scary. I love that these guys just have vaults of dope beats and bring them out in times like this. The raps...Kendrick is just the guy man. I don't care about the daughter allegations honestly and he could've left that verse off and it still would've done what it had to do for me. Shout out to Drake for waking the GOAT up. This is awesome.

Side note, crazy to look back and think people were thinking because he wasn’t battle tested we didn’t know what he would do. Maybe there was a reason [emoji23].

Reminds me of the origins of the Nas/Jay-Z beef and how it escalated over time.

One thing that I don't get from Drake's angle, why is he so obsessed (through various subliminals and these diss records) with portraying Kendrick as a 'studio gangsta?'

Much like how both portray women in the lense of the (misogynistic) Madonna - W*** dichotomy in their music (or most male rappers, TBF), Drake seems to think Kendrick is a 'fake messiah'- although, K-Dot refuted that very notion on Mr. Morale - but should be some sort of 'studio gangsta' instead?

Likely cause he's from Compton and that is the main (or almost only) persona that MC's from there put on.

This is crazy......Drake just need to fly to Bali or some where remote and hide out for 6 months or so. Cancel all remaining tours.

He’s trying to make Kendrick seem soft because he’s small. Meanwhile, Kendrick is calling his crew members out by name, saying they’re *****, and saying Drake should die [emoji23]

Metro listened to Drake and made some drums. Dropped "BBL Drizzy" instrumental and is holding a contest. Best verse over it gets a free beat.
