When I was in school at Pitt I remember going to a Nas concert that Wiz opened up for. At this time, I had never heard of Wiz and I was eager to see my favorite rapper (Nas) perform.

After hearing Wiz perform 19 songs with 40 people on stage rhyming every other word, I never wanted to listen to Wiz again.

A year later, we were able to bring Lupe (my current favorite rapper) to Pitt. When I went to the concert I found out that, once again, I had to listen to an hour and a half of Wiz before I could hear Lupe. Needless to say, I was not a big fan of Wiz at the time.

Fast forward to the present, my roommates and I listen to Wiz almost everyday. He's far from the greatest rapper but he's really grown as an artist and he stays true to himself. His past few mixtapes have been pretty dope.

He changed himself into a artist (something philly rappers cant do)

If you listen to Prince of the city 1 all the way to Kush & OJ (plus two albums show and prove/Deal or No deal) you can def see (hear) his transformation but at the same time he stays true to himself...Reason why I respect what he's doing (even the singing lol)

He went from a "Dipset wanna be" to developing himself into a artist with his own sound...Yet, still make sense in his lyrics...

Damn. I can't believe that I'm saying this, but I wasn't feeling that Bun B. He had a couple of songs that jammed, but it looks like this will be the first UGK-related album that I won't get. Seems like he went away from the hardcore Bun. It has a huge pop feel to this album.

                          Got a question too.

I just got the latest Slum Village album, Villa Manifesto. There's a track on it, Earl Flinn, that has a similar beat to another song; I just can't remember the name of that song. I think it was produced by madlib. Can anyone recognize it before I go crazy?

edit: should have read the youtube comments. It's Drinks Up! on "Wlib Am King of The Wigflip" album.

Wale's new tape is really good. His mixtapes always sound better than his albums do to me for some reason.

I haven't gotten a chance to listen to The Game's new tape yet. Anyone got any opinions on it yet?
