While my cadence is something I work hard at over all the other qualities that go into rap music, not many rappers touch Wayne in that department. On top of that, his punchline game is one of the best hip-hop has, despite his overuse of similes.
Aside from a few examples (like "Dr. Carter", or "Dear Anne"), Weezy F. has no intention of making a 16 coherent from beginning to end. I, on the other hand like to delve deep in concepts, and each different song brings a new subject matter to the storyboard, as opposed to Wayne, who raps about the same **** over and over... as long as the similes are different... hell, maybe not, we've heard him overuse bars plenty of times too.
I honestly don't hate on the guy whatsoever... he is one of the headiest businessmen in the world period, but fans need to stop quoting his one-liners as valid reasons for his unmitigated greatness, especially his lines that say (and I'm paraphrasing) "I'm the best rapper alive, I'm not from this planet"...
I just prefer listening to level-headed homies and emcees as opposed to drugged-out-sounding, chuckle-heavy, simile writers. He also seems to be taking a step backwards these days, finding any niche he can fill. I, on the other hand (still incomparable to Wayne) am seeing rapid development as I seek out my ultimate rhyme ability, and not just swag and marketability.
Check out my entire album... it came out on July 4th...
