    Unpopular:

-Hopsin is the best up and coming rapper
-Big L is the best rapper/freestyler/punch line rapper ever
-Big Pun is the second best rapper ever
-Tupac is overrated (but I still think he's good, so dont take this out of context)

And this isn't unpopular, or at least I hope not, but 90s>>>>>>>>>>00's
    Chicago Bulls
    Chicago Bears
    Wisconsin Badgers

As far as going against some unpopular opinions:

-I think Eminem's "Recovery" is his best CD top to bottom.
-I liked Lupe's Lasers as well and will listen to songs off that more than songs off F&L (Lasers/The Cool are equal as songs I'll have in playlists)
        -Jay-Z still sucks monkey balls
        -I don't think I've ever listened to Big L.

          Unpopular Opinion:
          1. Lil Wayne has sucked most of his career. (except during the Sqad Up mixtapes & the first 3 The Carter albums)
          2. Hopsin should get more spin from hip hop/rap lovers
          3. Biggie music wasn't all that good. I really can't name anything of his.
          4. Nicki Minaj went crazy after those booty injections. All this barbie stuff is really not needed.
          5. The YMCMB empire should have crumbled way before Baby/Birdman started saying "fishing on a fishtail" in every single song he's featured on.
          6. If they have a video on 106npark 9 times out of 10 most of their music sucks.
          7. Even though the south appears to be on top in the mainstream, most of the music played right now is the same ol verses with the same ol beats. Gladly the add a dance to your song phase is gone.

Re: Official Hip Hop/Rap Music Thread

What....I cant believe we have a hip hop thread is 242 pages in, and im seeing it for the first time.

But to join in on the current discussion....My two unpopular rappers right now would be 2 Chaniz and Future. They come to mind because they are relevant now.

Dont get me wrong, I can listen to their music but to me, they wont last long. Both of them can not switch their style up. Every song i hear from them is starting to sound alike. And if I hear future say he is smoking something else like newports, I will never listen to another song by him.

And in the video below is the way 2 Chainz raps in EVERY one of his songs.

                Id enjoy that.

People usually recommend CDs and that's not the way my brain likes it. I'm better if someone gives me the "best" songs on an album so I don't give up on it because I don't get to the good ones.

                            @Beantown

There are a ton of great Big L songs IMO, so its hard to pick a few out, but try listening to these:

                            All Black http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0U1UN4P9Mnw
                            Deadly Combination http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nUadVQZOX4M
                            N*gga Please http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Wwcyxs6cMI
                            Thick by D.I.T.C. (big L at 1:10) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kvEJO2A4CeE
                            Day One by D.I.T.C (big L at 1:00) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NxGVdpZnGsI

and if you want to listen to his most famous, try:

                            Ebonics
                            Put It On
                            Devil's Son
                            Da Graveyard

If anyone would like my full favorite Big L playlist, I'll gladly share it

Wait, why do you some of you find Tupac overrated? I've never heard a bad verse of his and I've probably heard over 98% of his material.

Omg omg omg, guys calling Tupac overrated. The evolution/maturity alone of Tupac puts him near the top. Couple that w/ how I cannot remember one song of his I didn't like. And he actually lived the **** he was rapping about.

I can't go through and mutil quote so I'm gonna ramble:

I thought Late Registration was just ok, the more I listened to it as I got older, i do agree it was Kanye's best album. MBDTF stays in my rotation though.

I'd take The Eminem Show over Recovery, but Recovery is a classic of his to me.

Neither Kanye nor Eminem deserve to be in any sentence that contains the word trash.

Wale is hit or miss. Me being the sexist guy I am, I can't listen to these save the hos songs all the time.

After Forever, Drake started going down the drain.

                                I was a Hot Boy$ era - Carter 1 Wayne fan. Don't speak of 500 degrees.

Jay-Z fell off w/ the drop of Kingdom Come.

I couldn't understand Big Pun half the time.

If 50 would've have stayed on the same page as both Get Rich Or Trying albums, he'd be on pace to be one of the GOATS.
