Its not that we're expecting to much. Its that we're expected a "rap album" and instead we're getting spoon fed this Rhythm and Blues compilation. Dont release a song like "Headlines" and get folks hyped up about a "rap album" when it doesn't even come close to one.
He's not the greatest singer IMO. His voice reminds me of how I sound in the shower. As far as his lyrics go, he was hot when he was up and coming. Now that he's made it and choosed his own lane, I cant find many qoutables from him anymore. Nothing he spits screams beast mode or he killed it like you said.
I thought 808 and Heartbreaks was soft until it grew on me but at least Yeezy is known for spitting some fire every so often and he did drop 3 "rap albums" before he switched into R&B, melodramatic mode. I understand Drake is following the formula to success by appealing to females but even 2 females told me yesterday that the album is soft. That says alot right there. If you ask me, he is alienating himself from hip hop, creating his own lane and making the music that he wants. Problem is, nobody wants to hear that ish from him. Most can agree that we miss the old Drake.
