As a fan of old school Canibus, the video was hard to watch.

Nice use of the Little Dragon sample. Big Boi is supposed to be working with Little Dragon on his next album. Can't wait to see what they come up with.

Despite Top Dawg Entertainment agreeing to a partnership with Aftermath earlier this year, Kendrick Lamar’s major label debut may find itself devoid of any big name producers. Aftermath is a subsidiary of Interscope, which in theory would provide access to the likes of Pharrell Williams (his solo debut, In My Mind was released via Interscope) and Aftermath CEO Dr. Dre. But Top Dawg’s Kendrick Lamar has other plans for his upcoming album, Good Kid In A Mad City.

“The producers are really in-house,” Kendrick explained an interview with Hypetrak TV. “Soundwave, Tae Beats, Willie B., Dave Free—Digi-Phonics really. I just kept it [limited] to the people I came in with because they know my sound. I know their sound, and we mesh properly when we get in that studio and lock in.”

However there are two other notable producers with whom Kendrick is spending time. He says his collaborative mixtape with J. Cole is still in the works. According to K.Dot, the two spend a lot of time on the phone, but their respective schedules make finishing the mixtape difficult.

No word on that legendary producer that Kendrick has been linked with for the better part of the past 18 months. To date, Dr. Dre’s contribution to the album has been limited to rhyming on the Scoop DeVille-produced “The Recipe.” But even that wasn’t fully planned.

“We were just the studio having fun really,” Kendrick added. “And that’s how the best records come about. We wasn’t going for no particular type of record. We just wanted to have fun. It felt like me; it felt like some new energy. Dre loved it, and we started rolling with it. It’s definitely a good representation of where we’re from.”
Despite not seeing a physical release, Kendrick’s Section.80 album landed in Billboard magazine’s Top 25 digital albums chart; it also placed on the Billboard 200 top-selling albums list. The full interview with Hypetrak TV can be seen below.

Re: Official Hip Hop/Rap Music Thread

Details are now coming in, and here is the truth. According to sofurious.com, Chris Brown had his own section last night at W.I.P., Meek Mill and Juelz Santana were also present in a section that they were sharing. Drake then showed up and joined Meek and Juelz in their section. Chris Brown began throwing up gang signs and that irritated Drake. Drake then went on a rampage for about an hour and was saying “I don’t like that *****.” Drake’s posse began throwing things in Chris’ direction, which led to arguing and lots of things being thrown between the two groups. Lots of things were thrown: chairs, tables, buckets, ice but no bottles. Drake was taken out of the club by his bodyguards. Juelz Santana later cursed Drake out for causing a ruckus in their personal area for the night. Later that evening, Chris Brown and Meek Mill were hook up on a phone call with one another and they handled any issues that were in the air; that’s how this tweet came about.
                    1. So this dude is popping off all this mess about he don't like Chris Brown with Brown right there and don't do nothing??

                    2. When did Brown start sets? Or am I just extremely late on this?

As part of his probation, he isn't supposed to associate with any gang members, this could very well lead to a violation of his probation. (although, he's rich, so very unlikely)

Also, I read from TMZ that someone in Brown's 'camp' was yelling "Somebodys going to die tonight" which started it all, apparently direct towards Meek.

Which, btw, my cousin has associated with Meek before, he is from the Philly area...and...let's just say... Meek is "about that life"

Oh I already know about Meek because I've heard the samething from some of my family that still lives in Philly.

I just never knew about CB banging until now since this is the first I've heard of him throwing up sets.

                          Um, what?

Just the facts, or reported facts: According to French website Direct Star (via WOAI in San Antonio) Tony Parker had his eye injured in a fight in a New York club between rappers Drake and Chris Brown, reportedly over Rihanna, who they both have dated. The fight happened earlier in the week.
"I was quietly with my friends when a fight broke out. Bottles started flying everywhere. I tried to protect my girlfriend and I got everything," Parker said, wearing sunglasses to hide the wound.

"The cornea is affected. I cannot do anything for seven days. Wear a therapeutic contact lens and I get drops. I was lucky, that I almost had to get stitches," he added.
