I will say it again. Hip Hop beef is these days. Too much money involved for anyone involved to beef with each other. That goes for both radio stations and artists.

Oh, and Wayne co headlined Summer Jam with Rick Ross just last year. I don't think the station and him had any ill will toward each other. Maybe he thought the station was setting Nicki and YMCMB up to truly be dissed later on by Pusha T. So he pulled his artists just in case. Which turned out to be a bad business move. Now everyone is copping pleas to correct the situation.
Hip Hop Beefs(strictly on wax, not your Biggies and Tupacs) are "dead" because you have artists who think they are too big or too good to get involved in them. And also alot of times, they usually bring out the best in Rappers and that is what people want to hear, right?

I always hear people bring up the money aspect as if it's going to stop dudes nowadays from making money because they're involved in a beef. The only 'big name' rapper that lost money and never was the same again is Ja Rule but even he's the lone exception to this, not the rule.

If anything this is more ammo for Pusha to use because now he can just say "You let the Jew White DJ(paraphrasing here)chase you out cuz of your squad's wack *** song!!"

And then he proceeds to play the track which is 3-4 minutes long but takes 30 minutes to actually listen to the entire song.

So in summary, Flex went from "IM ENDING CAREERS!!!" to "Yo Nicki, we still cool though right?

And then you got Wayne getting upset because a ****ING DJ(not another rapper but a DJ)say that your girl's song isn't real hip hop(which he isn't lying BTW)and because of that, you take your Power Ranger Action Figures home?

There's all kinds of fail that need to be going around

Lyricist, or people who really breathe hip hop, are needed by the beat -- 95% of the people on the radio today need the beat. The fact that hip hop music has become fun again is a good thing.
Name the Top 5 Rappers, Dead or Alive and I bet they all will be labeled lyricists AND they have songs that can be listened to 'while at a party or a lounge with some females'.

And to me Hip Hop isn't fun -- yeah people are dancing (they technically never stopped) but 'fun' in hip hop to me is when I have to rewind the song back to hear those last 4 bars again. I rather listen to a Joe Budden artist than a Waka artist but thats just personal preference.

Besides, there is already a market for battle rappers. They get paid to do competitions.

And what are we basing top 5 rappers on? Most money made? Because everything else is personal preference.

I'm a big Joe Budden fan. Have been since I first heard him on a Clue tape. There are many artists who are lyrical that I enjoy. The thing is there is a time and a place for that kind of music. I don't want the DJ playing tracks off of Mood Muzik while I'm out having a good time. Give me someone like 2 Chainz or Ross in that type of environment.

"This DJ is garbage, he doesn't have the latest Immortal Technique record." Who says something like that when they're out?

As for top 5 dead or alive being lyrical. Yeah, that was then and this is now. Who is still around on that level still putting out music? We have Jay-Z and Nas, who else is there?

Thank you. We will never agree on the greatest rapper of all time. There are no stats in hip-hop, it's all personal preference.

I always hear people talking about Joe Budden's lyrics, this and that, but his sound is boring to me. Give me Lil B over Joe Budden any day. And I am dead serious.

EDIT: Sorry areobee, this isn't directed at you btw

There are definitely lyricists who would lose to less lyrical guys in a battle.
