Re: Official Hip Hop/Rap Music Thread
At the same time its forcing artist to emulate whats being played right now if they want the same sucess. For instance, this Cheif keef phenomenom right now has many rappers in my city dumbing down lyrics to compete in this market. Talent or raw lyricism doesn't get you anywhere nowadays.http://neverfollow.biz (Independent Music Group)Comment

Re: Official Hip Hop/Rap Music Thread
I wouldn't even care about those stupid *** songs if the radio stations weren't just playing the same 15 songs every hour. All I want is some variety. I just thank God that I can use my ipod in the car cause if I was forced to just listen to the radio, I would probably give up on hip-hop altogether.
Yea, variety would be sweet. Every so often I'll put Pandora on for a nice variety of music.http://neverfollow.biz (Independent Music Group)Comment

Guys want the easy route, good music speak for itself but now days those kind of artist has to work 2x as hard to make it.
It's not impossible, dudes need to make their own path.
They blinded by all the glitter but it's been proven that a non major label artist can make just as much money.Comment

The music industry is so watered down by copy cats now, that you can't make it like that. If you're going to do something that has already been done, your version has to be unique.
Drake is the best example. Rappers have been singing on records for years, but him and 40 crafted a sound that was unique to him, and that's what made him popular, not because he did what was hot.Cubs | Bulls | Dolphins | 'Noles
The artist formerly known as "13"

Why would he say something like that when there are plenty of popular artists out there who don't get radio play?
I'm not going to try to read his mind if he doesn't know how to express himself.Last edited by Fly3; 06-20-2012, 07:19 PM.Comment

Re: Official Hip Hop/Rap Music Thread
Riff Raff is a ****ing joke that shouldn't be taken seriously at all. And don't buy the "Yeah, well he's trying to be different" mess from anyone unless they mean different as being one of the worst(I'd be giving him too much credit by even calling him a rapper)jokes in music history.
I would speak more on him but I don't want to "offend" anybody for clowning or disrespecting their favorite rapper like I did last time so I'll just leave it at that.

After doing a little research on the guy. It turns out he is affiliated with Andy Milonakis and Simon Rex. He was also on some MTV show called From G's To Gents.
He is basically exploiting hip hop to make money. I wonder his father is a record executive or something. Or maybe kids today really are easily entertained and buy into this garbage.
The kids today do support Odd Future and Lil B. So I guess I shouldn't be surprised by this.Comment
