I rather curse at the "industry" because the only reason those songs are being played in the first place is because the labels pay for it.

At the same time its forcing artist to emulate whats being played right now if they want the same sucess. For instance, this Cheif keef phenomenom right now has many rappers in my city dumbing down lyrics to compete in this market. Talent or raw lyricism doesn't get you anywhere nowadays.

Yea, variety would be sweet. Every so often I'll put Pandora on for a nice variety of music.

I agree, but those same people are stuck in a box.

Guys want the easy route, good music speak for itself but now days those kind of artist has to work 2x as hard to make it.

It's not impossible, dudes need to make their own path.

They blinded by all the glitter but it's been proven that a non major label artist can make just as much money.

Then those artists have it twisted.

The music industry is so watered down by copy cats now, that you can't make it like that. If you're going to do something that has already been done, your version has to be unique.

Drake is the best example. Rappers have been singing on records for years, but him and 40 crafted a sound that was unique to him, and that's what made him popular, not because he did what was hot.

Would you consider creativity a talent? Sosa doesn't get any points for popularizing trap rap in Chicago?

Riff Raff is a ****ing joke that shouldn't be taken seriously at all. And don't buy the "Yeah, well he's trying to be different" mess from anyone unless they mean different as being one of the worst(I'd be giving him too much credit by even calling him a rapper)jokes in music history.

I would speak more on him but I don't want to "offend" anybody for clowning or disrespecting their favorite rapper like I did last time so I'll just leave it at that.

Okay, so as I expected it's all a big joke. The only reason I asked is because his name keeps popping up places. People are actually hyping this guy up as the next big thing.

After doing a little research on the guy. It turns out he is affiliated with Andy Milonakis and Simon Rex. He was also on some MTV show called From G's To Gents.

He is basically exploiting hip hop to make money. I wonder his father is a record executive or something. Or maybe kids today really are easily entertained and buy into this garbage.

The kids today do support Odd Future and Lil B. So I guess I shouldn't be surprised by this.
