I only listened to half of it, but man ... that was not good. Didn't even sound like he was rapping, just kind of talking. Very disappointed.

Surprised it was even posted on here considering how awful it was.

But then again, we get too much Lil B junk posted here so I guess I really shouldn't be.

        Yea, that was awful. Damn.

Forget old Lupe, that was a huge dropoff even from Lasers.

I was hoping you were wrong because he was actually 1-0 for me, but man. **** was awful.

The way he was saying the chorus, I was expecting to hear "rah!" his voice to just turn into Rick Ross'.

That doesn't even sound like a finished song. It sounds like he had an idea for a song, played around in the studio, then just threw it out on the internet on accident.

The new Lupe sounds rough and I'm not a fan BUT....

if it's polished a bit, it does have some hit potential.

The concept was there and I like the idea behind it, but it was poorly executed.

It's a finished song, man. Ain't a single kid listening to the radio trying to hear this ****.

I agree, the concept is good and I like the message. But damn that was just a horrible flow. And I'm an admitted Lupe Stan.

Nah you're not a Lupe Stan. The real Stans are saying that he intentionally made the song lazy and bad sounding as to reflect what's being played these days. I couldn't really wrap my head around it and it'll probably take me a while to fully get it but the end result is that with this release, Lupe has once again shown how much of a genius he is. He intentionally dumbed down a song that still goes over the heads of the general listening public.

That said, I am in neither camp of extremes. I don't think the song is awful, but it's not all that great either. It's okay, and hasn't stopped me from looking forward to F&L II.

Lupe was never as lyrical as some like to believe. His ability to make songs with creative concepts is what got him noticed. He's clever, nothing more, and nothing less.

Lets not forget he started out as a "gangsta" rapper. Only to switch lanes because he didn't have the skill set to stand out in that group.

Anyway the new Fly Union project comes out tomorrow. Don't expect anything special lyrically, but the production is always on point.

I don't really care how lyrical he is or was (and I've never been a big Lupe fan in the first place), I just miss the quality music he used to put out. I mean these last few singles he's released make Lasers sound like a classic in comparison. It's pretty sad, really, but that's just what happens sometimes, I guess.

I actually liked Around My Way, so it's not entirely doom and gloom for me when it comes to F&L2. 1/2 is ok, I guess. I'm still looking forward to it, but man I miss the old Lupe. F&L and The Cool are my two favorite albums of all time. Wish he'd go back to something similar to that.
