The new Nas joint maybe his best album since Stillmatic or God's Son. I never want to hear that older MC's should "retire." You can really hear the growth and culmination from his last few albums.

I gotta admit that I was disappointed that Premeire, RZA and Dre didn't contribute to the album, but No I.D. and Salaam Remi did a damn good job.

Standout cuts: "Cherry Wine", "Bye Baby", "The Don" and "Where's the Love (Bonus Track)"

After listening to the album for over a week now, I can honestly say this is my favorite Nas album since Stillmatic. There is something for everyone on this album. My only two complaint would be the album is over produced, but then again what major label album isn't these days. Also the songs produced by No I.D. sound exactly like the ones produced for Common's last album. I understand this is his style, but I would have liked to see him switch it up a bit.

              Both are very minor complaints.

Can't say I agree with you about Dr. Dre not being on the album. Dre hasn't done anything musically that has interested me in a long time. The last song he produced that I remember hearing was Under Pressure featuring Jay-Z. That song was trash.

As for my favorite songs on the album.

              No Introduction
              A Queens Story
              Daughters
              Reach Out
              Back When
              Cherry Wine
              The Don
              The Black Bond
              Nasty

Nas once again proved why he is the 2nd greatest only behind Jay-Z.

Dunno if we have any Hopsin fans here and I've never really listened to him but I heard this song and it's one of the realest pieces of music that's ever beat my eardrum.

Gotta co-sign your opinions J_P. Only listened one time thru thus far but it felt like a very well crafted, soulful yet grimey, grown-up album. You take off summer on smash and I'd probably never hit the fast forward button on my next listenings. This is not to say that every song is a classic but I can say that this album is very consistent in both lyrical content and musical arrangements(meaning every thing feels like it belongs on this album excluding "SOS"). Some of the songs felt very introspective/personal which in my opinion always leads to a solid Hip Hop LP.
I really like that Locomotive track. That beat and his flow on it really draws me in.

EA and 2k have the unfortunate task of trying to balance on a tightrope of fun and sim while trying not to fall 10,000 feet to their death. Instead of a safety net waiting down below there will just be angry customers quick to move out of the way and talk of their failure.

Sounds like an early 2000's Eminem beat.
