Is the title for Murs and 9th's most recent album indicative of the future?

9th Wonder – The Final Adventure

Re: Official Hip Hop/Rap Music Thread

First listened to it this morning and was a little busy, but it seemed pretty tight from what I could tell.

What I was asking is does the title "The Final Adventure" actually mean this is their last collab?

Yes, that will be the final project the two put out together.

I haven't heard of an 80s rapper who's on par with the today's top lyricists, something like this:

KRS One is not an advanced lyricist, bro. I respect what he's done for the genre, but no.

Or maybe you're just laughing at me. That's cool.

Upon further listen, I'm feeling A Loose Quarter. Alot. Off 2 The Races, has way too many personal similarities for me (Aside from doing drugs and VH1 reality shows) Bumped that song probably 20 times last night.

If they meant best mainstream rapper, is that really saying much? Serious question

EDIT: To add to this, what are they(or anybody else for that matter)basing that on?

His wallet probably thinks it is lol

And not just because he's mainstream, but I would listen to Drake over a majority of mainstream and underground artists. Mainly because his music (A majority) is very relatable. Not talking about being a gangster, killing people etc.

Also, he is a very underrated story teller. Don't think he gets enough credit for that. I feel like he is LeBron of the rap game almost. There are homers, there are the haters, and there are those that can appreciate that even though he might not be the best rapper ever, he's got the all around skills to be put up there with the best.

People need to get out of this thinking to be a great rapper, you have to be extra lyrical and deep and complex. I feel like Drake has found that happy medium that bridges an underground sound to the mainstream audience. Which he can thank 40 for as well.
