Can't believe this is the Q album we got after 3 years. I was just relistening to his stuff to rerate it after the Great Apple Music Purge of 2018, so good. This one is meh, I didn't love Blankface but I'd probably put Groovy Tony and THat Part over anything on this. Drunk, Lies, Numb Numb Juice, and Dangerous are good, not going out of my way to hear the rest again.

Freddie told a German magazine the features on Bandana are Push, Killer Mike, Anderson Paak, and Yasiin Bey. SOON

I've got a 14 year old girl at my gym who said rap is her favorite type of music. So of course I asked who her favorites were and she said "Juice World and Lil Pump". Being 32 and no longer cool, I have no idea who these guys are. I attempt to listen, straight garbage. I asked her if she likes old-school hip hop and find out she's never even heard of 2Pac, Biggie, Jay-Z and BARELY knows who Eminem is. Didn't know Dr. Dre is the Dre in Beats By Dre...I was amazed. So now I give her homework of listening to the classics before she comes back the next time. She said she didn't like California Love.

I didn't know how to respond to that. Lol.

Amazing having google at their finger tips and not knowing music history or history itself but hey kids still flunk school and don’t know how to ask siri about the questions on homework.

Side note, I miss drill music. It's hard to find stuff with that kinda energy now.

Hit play on the new Tyler, the Creator album on whim when surfing new releases the other day. Went into it with no clue what to expect as I am not exactly what you would call a fan, but came away impressed and satisfied. Can see some more future spins in the coming months.

I was kinda playing it in the background over the weekend and it was just unrecognizable, didn't even notice it was him. Didn't stand out much, but I need to give it a more focused run. More hidden feature ****ery smh

I need to see the Wu documentary.

I haven't messed with anything outside of Ventura and Everythings for Sale. Too much distractions in other genres right now.

FlyLo's new album is awesome if you're into that kinda sound, I read something on Reddit that pushed me into a Nujabes mood for a few days so I was ready for this. The song with Thundercat is dope, the whole thing has a funky, upbeat vibe. The Beast Coast album is kinda disappointing, not even a single boom bap beat, I'm hurt. First half of this year has sucked.

Yeah, I keep seeing it dropping around Reddit. It should fit in nicely with all the jazz and funk I've got going on lately.

2019 has been great so far, but hip hop has been quiet for me. Tons of jazz, a couple rock albums, a couple roots albums, and Anderson Paak.

I read on KTT that he's got features from Push and Black Thought coming up so you already know I'm ready for those.

Mereba on Colors, her new album is dope, JID and 6lack features as she's run with them for a long time, Sandstorm is like the sequel to All Bad on Never Story I never knew I needed...

I meant to come back to this, but the Flying Lotus album is super smooth. Fantastic cruising album for sure. Thundercat fits in perfectly. You should check out his albums if you haven't yet. If you like FlyLo you'll definitely enjoy Thundercat's stuff.

I also gave Schoolboy Q a spin, but didn't really stand out to me.

They both came up under the hip-hop umbrella, I found FlyLo when Captain Murphy started. Thundercat worked with Mac Miller a lot.

Clear Part 2 off of Gran Turismo has put me back on a Curren$y binge, recreating my Jet Life playlist, starting from Pilot Talk to now, every album and mixtape I have of his. It is glorious.

Bandana June 28, the art is awesome. Hopefully the year picks up.

Saw the first 2 episodes of Of Mics and Men, it must be good because my mom was spazzing out at every sight that took her back to that time. Love that something like this is even being done.
