Re: Terminator Salvation
SpoilerBiggest issue was the whole rod through the heart thing. Should have been an instant death or close to it. So many vital organs in that area and he just pretty much walks it off. No blood either.
The other part is when the T800 impaled him, Marcus just ripped straight out like it was the sword in the stone or something. lolSpoilerI wish there was no plan for a sequel(s). I felt the better ending would be to have Connor die, buy have Skynet be all but wiped out because of his efforts to blow up the central hub. He was only in there to save Kyle, and he was only out to save Kyle because Kyle is to be his father. The remnants of Skynet, as a last gasp, send a T800 back in time to kill John Connor to prevent their destruction, prompting Kyle to follow, the cycle repeats. I just have no real desire to see a sequel to this one, especially considering the writer's seem to wipe their hands clean of everything at the end by having Connor proclaim there is no fate, the future is wide open, blah blah blah. Meaning nothing is pre-determined any longer, Kyle may not even have to go back in time if they've prevented Skynet from even developing a working time machine. It just seemed like an easy way to allow the writers to do whatever they want with the next films. Though in the end, I imagine this trilogy ends with Kyle going back in time to save Sarah.
I went in expecting crap, and got something a little better. It wasn't a bad film, probably deserving of 2 stars, but as many have already pointed out the plot was pretty bland and absent of surprises. Bale busted out that Batman voice way too much, and the early part of the film just seemed off. I don't know if it was the pacing, or if it was just uninteresting. And why no R rating? Terminator films should have an R rating. It just looks stupid when a metal machine punches a human in the face and there's no structural damage. The CG was a bit spotty, and not really as good as a film with this kind of budget could be. I think this one is better than the third film though, mostly because the third film was redundant and useless. Still, no one who has seen the first two should have any real sense of urgency to go out and make sure they see this one because it doesn't bring anything new or enlightening to the table.Comment

Re: Terminator Salvation
Overall I liked the movie but didn't like the ending at all. It's better than 3 but the first two are still better.GT: Herkyalert

Re: Terminator Salvation
I enjoyed the movie. It's not a great movie, but it's definitely entertaining, a good summer movie. I really liked the Marcus Wright character.
SpoilerI loved the part when Connor is setting up the trap for the motorcycle terminator and uses "You Could Be Mine" to lure it. Great reference to T2!Comment

Re: Terminator Salvation
Supposedly, that "reveal" was in the original script.

Re: Terminator Salvation
Just got back from seeing it. Meh.
It had potential, I really like the Marcus character and the story arcs that are possible with him that weren't in the previous movies.
Michael Ironside needs to be pushed away from the buffet line as he has really added some lbs.
Not a dissapointment as my expectations were on the average scale, but this maybe lower than 3 IMO, at best it is tied with 3.
I was hoping for more of a "battlefield" type movie, us versus the machines...and this really wasn't that. I think this universe has run it's course.Comment

Re: Terminator Salvation
The video quality from the Blu Ray was amazing. One of the best looking BR movies I've seen so far.
There was a nice surprise in the film but that was about it. It's nothing more than a popcorn flick. I would say this movie was better than T3 but not as good as T1 or T2.
