I just realized...with the title of "How I Met Your Mother" they could easily be facing cancellation, work together an episode with a random chick, and at the end of the epsisode, show the kids, and have Ted say "and that's how I met your mother", then they kiss with old age make-up and the series ends.

Sure it's plausible, but I'll be damned if that's how it ends. While it answers the question, such a thing would suck.

I think if they had to end it suddenly like that, then what you said would happen. But after that, they make it out so that Ted is separated from their mother and is now with their aunt robin. I don't think that that's the way they want to go, but just in case it's suddenly cancelled, it's a viable option.

To tell you the truth, I don't even care who the mother is anymore. They show is so great, especially when they focus on the other characters, that I like the episodes not focused around him finding the mother.

According to wiki, the series has received a huge boost in ratings this season, so it shouldn't be in danger of getting cut.

No, but if CBS thinks a brand new show is going to compete any better with House, they're crazy. I doubt anyone's canceling a show based on its opponent for 4-5 weeks a year.

I assume it's just for American Idol's early stages. It's what they've done every year. I would think that they'll move it back to Tuesday at 9 later in the year and in the fall.

That would make me so mad. Seems like they do need to get going on the story. I thought last year they almost got cancelled and i will be super pissed if it ends and we dont get to find anything out.
