    It was one episode.

Relax, guys. And I found the episode to be funny.

I thought it was pretty funny also.

I'm not going to argue humor, because obviously that's subjective; but that was one of the scenes I thought was just pointless because they keep writing Sheldon the same way.

Every other character has evolved to some degree over the years, but Sheldon does not. We get it, he's socially awkward - they all are - but here's Leonard in a relationship with Penny. Here's Howard actually being married, here's Raj talking to women, here's Sheldon...still doing the "you're in my spot" character routines he was doing in the first season.

I don't know...that's my problem with the show. I can watch it from time to time, but if I watch with any sort of regularity I just end up getting bored with it because they put a lot of focus on so little character.

The Sheldon character has won Jim Parsons six Emmy nominations and three wins as well as two Golden Globe nominations and one win. In my opinion he is the one character you cannot change. If they change him now after seven seasons I think that would prove very costly for the future of the program. Just my opinion.

^^ I agree. Sheldon has changed, slightly, over the yrs though. Softened really. Hugs and social interactions with the group. But his standoffishness is sort of his "shtick" if u will. I understand how it could wear on some people, but you can't please everybody all the time

Oh, I'm not calling for full-scale changes or anything, I just would've liked to see some character evolution. At this point, the show's been on so long that they're not going to change much, if anything.

Just logically, as stuck in his ways as he was for the first 20-something years of his life, being around these people for much of the last decade should have had some effect on Sheldon and his interaction with/understanding of social conventions.

I don't think you can really argue about Sheldon not evolving. The first couple of episodes of the season, particularly his opening up to Penny, shows a lot of growth. His relationship with Amy does the same.

Eh, maybe it's just me then. I think he's a one note predictable character. I do like everyone else in the cast, so I'll probably check it out later in the season to catch up; but it probably wouldn't kill me to take a break from it for now.

I also don't want to be that dick that goes into a topic and belittles the subject though, so this might be my last Sheldon-related post.

Sheldon used to be MUCH more rigid and inflexible. Go back and watch some S1 episodes; you can definitely see the difference.

And Sheldon even said himself that he knows Amy wants to be more physical and intimate with him, which makes him uncomfortable, but that he's trying. Given that Sheldon clearly has Asperger's Syndrome (and the writers have even alluded to that fact in interviews), it's going to take him longer than others to change.

I swear I thought Bill Nye died many months ago. I hope I was wrong and he's still alive and well. Grest childhood memories of science classes with those shows. Lol.
