Re: Batman 3 news and rumors.
Director Christopher Nolan has revealed the title of his highly anticipated sequel to The Dark Knight—and knocked the odds-on favorite Bat-villain out of the running.
The Dark Knight Rises, as Batman 3 will now be called, won't see the Caped Crusader facing off against Edward Nygma, better known as the Riddler. Nor will he don the Bat-thermals to take down Mr. Freeze. Ever-elusive, all Nolan would say was "We'll use many of the same characters as we have all along, and we'll be introducing some new ones."
If the title The Dark Knight was, as Nolan has said, about Harvey Dent as much as it was Bruce Wayne, maybe the new title is a hint toward the resurrection of Two-Face ...
Nolan won't be shooting The Dark Knight Rises in 3-D—he's convinced Warner Brothers that his current plan of using high-definition and IMAX cameras is the prudent course for the 2012 release.
At least one A-list director isn't drinking the 3-D punch.Comment

Re: Batman 3 news and rumors.
Finally some news!
The title of the movie is alright. I was expecting something different but this works.
Also, I'm kind of shocked The Riddler isn't going to be the villain. I thought it was almost a sure thing. I think, if Two-Face really is coming back, that the new characters they'll introduce will be lesser known ones to casual Batman fans like Black Mask.
And thank god for no 3-D.Originally posted by bradtxmaleI like 6 inches. Its not too thin and not too thick. You get the support your body needs.

Re: Batman 3 news and rumors.
I'm fine with the title. Not awesome, but it's fine.
No 3D =Nobody has done 3D right except for Avatar, and if you aren't prepared to shoot the entire movie in the 3D like Avatar did, then don't do it. Besides, I would MUCH rather have scenes shot in IMAX. The IMAX scenes in TDK and Transformers 2 were drool inducing.

Re: Batman 3 news and rumors.
No 3D with all IMAX = awesome.
I definitely don't mind "The Dark Knight Rises" as a title.
Shocked about their not being a Riddler, but if Two Face actually returns as full-fledged Two Face, I'd be excited. Eckhart was awesome and I would love to see what he could do with the Two Face role with the full movie time.Comment

Re: Batman 3 news and rumors.
I like the title and indication towards more Two Fce, but why is everyone so happy about no 3D? It's not like 3D movies haven't given you a 2D option as well.Comment

Re: Batman 3 news and rumors.
For me, I'm happy because it's either going to have scenes shot with IMAX cameras, or in 3D. Given the choice between the two, I would rather see IMAX scenes. With most other movies that don't shoot in IMAX, yes you do get a choice. But at least for me, around here, the newer theaters that have better seats and equipment that I like to go to most will ONLY show the 3D option, while some smaller and older theaters are the ones that show it in 2D here.Comment

Something tells me he was told that The Dark Knight had to be in the title.
I don't hate it, though.Member: OS Uni Snob Association | Twitter: @MyNameIsJesseG | #WT4M | #WatchTheWorldBurn

One word too many, IMO (and two syllables to boot). Don't take what I said too literally; we were simply floating around other title names and this one never flew across the radar, so for a while it won't feel right to me. We may have to change the thread title though.
I wouldn't be too happy if Two-Face returned for two reasons:
1) Christopher Nolan already declared him dead.
2) Even for Two-Face's limited screen time, his character already got a little stale. We get it, you flip a coin because it's the fair way to do things. I don't know, I just hope he's still not that stale.
Other than that, I completely trust the Nolan's and Goyer to take care of business properly with any villains they have on screen. I just didn't expect it is all (much like no Riddler, much like the movie's title).Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

I'm unsure about the villain. I don't know how I would feel about Two-Face again. But in the end, I'll just trust whatever the heck Nolan decides to do.Comment

Re: Batman 3 news and rumors.
The title is probably to be expected as Bats should triumph in it. I'm a sad panda after hearing no Riddler though
I'm not hot on the idea of bringing back Two-Face. If Nolan wasn't so hardcore on the "this is being done as realistically as possible" then I could give it a pass but Nolan has been committed to the idea that these movies take place in as realistic a world as possible and well, Two-Face is definitely dead. If he brings Two-Face back then it kinda cheapens the whole franchise just a bit no matter how clever the resurrection is.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club
