Re: The Dark Knight Rises
The cadence of Banes voice threw me off in the movie. His inflections were so irratic to me. What accent was he shooting for?Comment

Ask a female what they thought about Bane's physique and coat.... You might start thinking about getting yourself one as well.Comment

Re: The Dark Knight Rises
According to Tom Hardy, he based his voice for Bane on Bartley Gorman (1944 - 2002), an Irish Traveller who was the undefeated Bare-knuckle boxing champion of the United Kingdom: "The choice of the accent is actually a man called Bartley Gorman, who was a bare knuckle fighter, a Romani gypsy. So I wanted to underpin the Latin, but a Romani Latin opposed to Latino."Comment

Re: The Dark Knight Rises
Finally saw this last night. I'm not into superhero movies but I thought the Dark Knight was the best movie I'd seen in a long time. I was amazed by it.
SpoilerLast night I came away disappointed. The entire plot just didn't appeal to me. It seemed disjointed and too far away from anything Batman related. The flying helicopter "Bat" thing was absurd to me. Waiting 5 months to nuke Gotham instead of just doing it ASAP? 99% of the city's cops being sent into the sewers and then getting trapped? Eh. What made the Dark Knight so amazing was how believable it was, DKR didn't have that going for it. Rigging half the city from underground to blow up? Eh.
Bane's character was also disappointing. He wasn't nearly as menacing as the Joker and was a run-of-the-mill villain. The Joker had the "it" fact, Bane was just bland. Maybe it's because he was a rehashed version of the antagonists from Batman Begins, I don't know. I didn't like the angle they took with him. I get the point of tying up loose ends and having the Russian girl aspect but I simply didn't care for it - it was too unimaginative for me.
Maybe it was a case of the Dark Knight being so good that there was no way this movie could have been as great. The bar was set too high perhaps."You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier

Re: The Dark Knight Rises
True, which makes me realize that this was a decent trilogy that had one of the movies elevated to an amazing level because of one actor."You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier

Re: The Dark Knight Rises
Yeah, I'm not like a huge movie critic where I can tell who's a great actor and all that all the time, but the two guys that have always stood out to me acting wise was Heath Ledger specifically in that movie, and Denzel Washington in just about any movie he's in.
Best actor in the new Batman was Joseph Gordon Levitt in my opinion, although I also have a very high opinion of Christian Bale and Michael Caine.NFL: Bills
