Fight scenes should be better. I would love to see some actual martial art style visuals considering Batman is supposed to be a master fighter.

Plus, more detective based crimes/stories. Just because a story is "small" doesn't mean its not powerful. It would be awesome to see Batman a "methodical" detective crime story. I felt like a lot of Batman's detecting reasoning came from his gadgets.

      Great post here.

It's funny to think that as good as this Batman trilogy was, Nolan only scratched the SURFACE of Batman. He's missing the martial arts. And he also missed out on the true detective work Batman does.

Hell I just read the Justice League story "Tower of Babel" and it got me thinking "wow" there's still so much more to be explored.

The detective angle could be a perfect work for Riddler, since when he was a villain he always thought he was more clever and smarter than Batman.

I wouldn't say he missed on the Martial Arts, in Begins Batman clearly knows several forms of Martial Arts. Remember when he first arrives with the blue flower Ra's calls out all the martial arts he's doing when there fighting.

That's 15 seconds in a series that is roughly 8-9 hours long?

I'm not saying they didn't establish that fact, but they never really proved it. And if they did you couldn't tell because Nolan had super zoom fight scenes.

I've always liked him but Inception was the one where you were like this guy has it. For me anyway.

All I can go off is how I felt and how the dozens of colleagues I know felt about it.
In my office, there were only 3 people who 'LOVED' it and all of them have batman toys spread around their cubes.
Everyone else had a range of 'it was pretty good' to 'not bad', to 'bad'.
I have yet to meet anyone personally who wasn't a huge Batman fan that described the movie as 'great'.

To me, the first movie was 10x better than this film.
But that's typical of superhero films; the 3rd one is usually the worst; Xmen, Spiderman, Superman and now Batman.

I would not put Rises on that list. Weakest of the trilogy? Possibly, but those movies have been excised from their respective series to the point where people barely remember they exist.

I'm pretty much at the point that I'm willing to watch any movie that JGL is in. Even that Premium Rush movie.

I think in the 50/50 commentary Seth Rogen establishes this fact. They say that JGL is one of the most outgoing and eccentric people you'll ever meet.

That one's going to be a stretch but Looper is on my radar because of him now.

Premium Rush ... yeah I don't have high expectations, but I'm willing to give it a shot.
