New pricing is starting on Wednesday, but if its like Compusa, they won't be that good and when the prices finally drop, nothing will be left.

Re: Circuit City to close 155 stores = new low prices
Damn, I got one right the street closing and one right by job closing. I'll definitely be stopping them both to see what kind've deals they'll be having.
On a smaller note, one of my friends that I used to work with at Sears works at one of the stores that is closing down and the messed up part is that he JUST got promoted to a manager over there, so that sucks for him.
BTW...I'm a little confused by this. Is it saying that the stores on the list will be closed for tomorrow ONLY and then reopen on Wednesday or will be they be closing for GOOD tomorrow?GamerTag - Swt James Jones

Re: Circuit City to close 155 stores = new low prices
Not really surprised that Circuit City is closing more stores. The one that used to be by my parents house when I was little shut down at least 5 or 6 years ago. It was in a pretty big shopping area and I figured they were on the outs when that happened. And since then I've only gone to one about 5 times.Comment

Re: Circuit City to close 155 stores = new low prices
I'm not surprised.
When my wife and I were shopping for laptops we obviously found the cheapest best ones at Circuit City. After being there for 20 minutes and getting no help we went and found the Apple guy that was working. Since I was interested in an HP computer he told me he couldn't help. He said we needed the HP guy. But the HP guys was busy so he told us we had to wait for one of the few Circuit City people working that day. So, we went to customer service and they said they were too busy to help us but that someone would be there as quick as possible. After being in the store for a little over an hour my wife and I just left. We stood around in the laptop department for 40 minutes and got no help. As we walked out I let the guy at the customer service counter with the 'Manager' name badge that he just lost $1500 in sales. He asked what I was talking about and I told him that I was told 40 minutes ago by one of his employees that someone would be over to help me ASAP but I never saw anyone. He asked me what he could help me find and I told him that I had just found what I was looking for, the exit door, and we turned around and walked out.
We proceeded to drive over to Best Buy and I had my laptop back at home within a couple of hours. As soon as we walked into the store I was helped from introduction till the end of purchase. Did I pay a couple of hundred more? Yes. Did I stand around for over an hour and have to entice the employees to help me and get a sale? No.
Some people don't mind paying a bit more if there's less of a hassle. Circuit City doesn't get that and they're paying for it now.
Oh Well.
Life is a sport, so play hard!

Re: Circuit City to close 155 stores = new low prices
I work at a Best Buy right across from a CC and it has been tanking for a good 6 months now. It's gonna interesting to see how we do with all the sales they're having and if we gain more customers from it.
Just to let you guys know, if you don't already, no one at Best Buy is payed on commission. And I'm pretty sure CC isn't either.
Also, I'm the "Apple" guy in our computers department and I wouldn't ever turn down someone looking for a PC. In fact, I can't imagine how much trouble I'd get in. It's absolutely ridiculous the guy either didn't know very much about PC's or just didn't want to help. Just terrible customer service.Kansas City Royals | FC Barcelona | New Orleans Pelicans
