Re: Black Friday 2008
My pleasure. I did a double-take when I saw that deal in my e-mail this morning... if I wasn't planning to build one for about $350, I'd be jumping on that as well. TigerDirect and Newegg are my favorite things ever, basically.Send your Midnight Release weirdo pics/videos to my new website: http://www.peopleofmidnightreleases.com!Comment

Thanks.
The Xbox 360 Arcade Holiday bundle with extra controller and 20gb hd for $199 might have me in line that night.Comment

Re: Black Friday 2008
When will Black Friday go online...I mean across the board?
I know it's tradition but there should be something where you can log onto the store's website online and order your stuff on a first come, first serve basis.
The whole camping out thing seems ridiculous...especially in this economy.
I know...wishful thinking on my part.Comment

Re: Black Friday 2008
Actually I work at Target and employees are not allowed to hold black friday items for themselves. However if you get lucky and have that day off, you are allowed to shop but you have to wait in line like everyone else. Too bad for me I have to work.Fav teams:

Re: Black Friday 2008
This might be the case for some clothing stores. But stores like BEst Buy don't make a ton of actual profit, despite the way it looks, because their markup isnt as high vs their cost.
A clothing store that only has 6 bucks tied up in a shirt can afford to sell it for 15 when the regular price is 30 bucksComment

Re: Black Friday 2008
Just yesterday I was thinking, these places need to start dropping these Blu-Ray items in price if they want it to be the next big thing. They need to at least use this Black Friday to get the blu-ray reputation out more b/c people will see these $7.99 DVD's, and snatch them and not even wonder why they might like a blu-ray version better.
If somebody sees four or five GOOD blu-ray movies reg. priced at $24.99, but on sale for $9.99, they might be more inclined to drop $250+ on a blu-ray player.Comment

Re: Black Friday 2008
What exactly isnt marked up at Best Buy then? I worked there and outside of DVD's and CD's, everything else had a pretty high markup. CPU's werent too bad, accessories were really marked up, TV's are marked up anywhere between 300-600, cameras are between 30-100 depending on what the camera is. There isnt much that isnt marked up at that store. This might be the case for some clothing stores. I think thats a stretch, people arent going to drop 250+ for a player because they see a few BR movies at 9.99, especially considering those same movies are probably going to be no more then 9.99 on regular DVD, where is the incentive to upgrade then? Secondly, so many people think that BR looks nearly the same as DVD and until that perception changes consumers will continue to stick with DVD instead of upgrading to BR.Just yesterday I was thinking, these places need to start dropping these Blu-Ray items in price if they want it to be the next big thing.
