I want Vista so that I can actually use 4 GB of RAM. Also, I think it looks really nice and I don't want to pay $150 for an old piece of software that I already own. That said, if I can manage to not have to pay for XP (getting my license codes and doing a clean install), then I'll just do that to save some money until I feel that 4 GB and Vista is absolutely necessary.Send your Midnight Release weirdo pics/videos to my new website: http://www.peopleofmidnightreleases.com!Comment

Re: Black Friday 2008
This was in an article on the Cincinnati Enquirer website about Black Friday in the Cincinnati area. Thought it was funny.
... Among the first in the Best Buy store in Florence was not a typical customer. Bengals wide receiver Chad Ocho Cinco, aka Chad Johnson, arrived early to get some bargains. Ocho Cinco acknowledged his benching last week for being late to a team meeting.
'We go a little goofy'
"I was bad last week. Sleepy,'' he said. He said he was in the store to buy coach Marvin Lewis a gift.
Seen later with a Rock Band kit, portable stereo and a Cuisinart four-slice toaster, Ocho Cinco said, "I've been trying to call coach, but he doesn't answer." It was 5:25 a.m. ...MLB: Cincinnati Reds

Re: Black Friday 2008
Crowds weren't that bad at all here. The wife and I went to Wal-Mart, Toys R Us, Target, and Best Buy and were home by 9 after we stopped and had breakfast.
Also did quite a bit of shopping online this year. Last night, and this morning to be exact.Comment

Re: Black Friday 2008
My Black Friday was half-disappointment, half-Godsend.
The biggest disappointment was Best Buy. Like previous years when they'll only show a few covers DVDs that will be cut and when you go there almost all of them are cut in price, I assumed the same for Blu-rays, especially when there was a section that said "Assorted Blu-ray titles: $16.99" or whatever it said. Needless to say, I only left with four Blu-ray movies, because none of the other ones on my list were cheaper than Walmart's normal retail price. I had a list of 45 movies, by the way. So I was outside of Best Buy for five hours for four movies... however, I have to admit that if I was even an hour later to get in line, I don't think I would have gotten a chance to get any of those four movies, so in the end I guess it was still a good thing.
Fry's was worse (but also better in terms of deals), but I'll explain it for a later time. I didn't get any sleep last night, literally... so I'm going to sleep now.
At least I got my 750 GB external.
EDIT: By the way, as I left Fry's, there were two paramedics rushing in with a stretcher. I guess someone got the wrong end of the knife.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: Black Friday 2008
I laid in a warm, comfy bed and enjoyed my rest as many others ran around looking for deals.
Personally, there is no deal worth getting up and going to the store at 4am on a day off. I'll pay the extra money and keep my sanity!Comment

Re: Black Friday 2008
I got a good GPS off of Amazon, no getting up early or anything. Granted, I had to work today, but still wouldn't have done the 4am thing, nothing else I really want (and all the GPS's I could get in person were ok, but was worth spending a bit more for what I get)Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment
