In other words, unless you watch your TV in a black hole or at the gate's of Heaven, you likely will not notice a difference between 1,500:1 or 20,000:1.

The 3-4 articles I read on this mentioned that this is the # that retaliers are using to really take consumers as it appears to be something people are really concerned about (without really knowing what it is or what it means).

Any pro's out there really know the details of this?
You are correct. Contrast Ratio is nothing but Marketing Hype by the companies. ANSI Contrast is really what matters & no Flat Panel Tech out there can do more than 1,000:1 ANSI Contrast.

Make sure you find out which one you got exactly, because a 23" 1080p TV? Wow!
yeah blzer, i was skeptical, but man, the thing is 1080p, i can't believe how great the picture is and like i said, it is for gaming only. i have a large master bedroom and basically have that tv side by side with a 32 inch flat screen, and the picture quality KILLS the 32 inch. for the price i can't believe the deal i got man. i am VERY happy with the purchase...

I think I did pretty well. Ordered a piece of jewelery for my girl online for $300 off the retail price. Will make a nice Christmas present. Went out in the afternoon and got a couple of shirts for a good price. Topped it off by getting NBA Live for $30.

I still haven't seen a download/streaming service, for movies supposedly in HD, look close to blu ray.
