    A few of them were.

I should have said a few scenes instead of just a couple, because there were definitely more than two scenes that had me wondering what the hell Rob Zombie was doing.

I also read to that this film doesn't feel anything like the remake and could have been a completely different film if it weren't for the mask. LOL! Reading that has me a bit concerned.

I hate the original remake, total POS movie. My buddies saw this last night after I said no to going. Called me half way through the movie as my one buddy walked out. All of them said it was God awful. LOL

        Saved me $10

I was eager to going (like the remake, though the second half is far inferior), but I have a feeling Zombie messed up with this one. You'd figure he (and other directors) would get their acts together after being criticized about faults in an attempt at something, especially someone like Michael Bay in Transformers. But we were mislead into thinking they could actually behave themselves and in fact go the opposite route, making us more frustrated.

I may save $10 seeing this as well, but I still want to see it.

You know Blzer, my wife and I just got back from seeing H2. My wife said it right, this movie could have been a good slasher film without the Halloween mythology. With the Halloween mythology involved, she didn't really like the film. The funny thing is that last night I read the same thing from others on the Halloween message boards and over at bd.com. Now for my opinion, the film wasn't bad and better than some of the middle of the road Halloween attempts from the 90's. I think that Rob Zombie really went overboard with the brutality and the way that Michael kills and especially the use of the knife.

My biggest problem has to be:

              Spoiler

I like Rob Zombie's films and music, but please do not allow him to make a H3 because based on the ending I fear the worst. It is time either the series receives yet another reboot or another writer/director steps in. I would vote for a reboot personally. Just like when Donald Pleasance passed away, it took away an element of the Dr. Loomis character missing from the later films.

If you enjoyed Zombie's original, you may like this one even though it does take a few wrong turns.

Okay, well again I'm still inclined to see it, but now that I'm in school $10 is kind of a day of food for me, so I might have to find another way to see it.

And don't the commercials say something about Zombie "finishing his created vision" or whatever with H2? I figured this would kind of be the last one.

I think Zombie needs to stick to original material, IMO. House of 1000 Corpses may be ****ed up, but its definitely his. I think the Halloween mythos kind of holds him back.

Nah, he has no real talent and is showing it. This coming from someone who LOVED House of 1000 Corpses and Devil's Rejects.

The simple fact that his next film is the remake of the remake of the remake in The Blob.

Well, the funny thing Blzer is that the first weeks from the trailers they were saying he completes his vision but now none of the trailers say that anymore. He originally said that the remake was it and he would not make another one. Reading around last night, with an interview to MTV, he said that he did not like the direction that the studio was going to take with H2 so he had to interject himself. I have this feeling that he could be back for H3 even though I probably do not want him back. Like Fresh said, Zombie is best at creating his own original content like House of 1,000 Corpses and Devil's Rejects.

I can't bash Zombie for trying though, the guy loves horror and its in his heart. Both Corpses and Rejects plays huge homage to the older horror films and of course Texas Chainsaw Massacre. But these reimaging films need to stop.

I doubt they would remake that horrible concept of the masks. If anything, the story with the Myers family continues.

Thanks to our boy BC and his incredible hawk eyes for catching an article over at the LA Times that will make Michael Myers fans very happy. Apparently, Rob Zombie hasn't put an end to franchise as the Weinstein brothers are already planning a return to Haddonfield in 2010 with Halloween 3D. While Halloween II only opened at the #3 spot this weekend, had it not started a fist fight with The Final Destination, it would have easily taken the top spot and make over $30m. The Weinsteins knows this and are quickly making plans for a third film.

                              From the LA Times:

""Halloween II" may not have won the box office this weekend, but Weinstein Co. is taking a lesson from the movie that did as it prepares a sequel for next summer.

The independent studio's co-Chairman Bob Weinstein said today that the 3-D sequel, titled, appropriately enough, "Halloween 3D," is in development.
I expected something like this with all the 3D craze of late and with many films once hitting the number 3 in the horror genre have been in 3D. This could be interesting to see how the story plays out and I do hope that this next director does not bother with some of the concepts in H2 if they use anything is used from Zombie's films.

I saw the movie Friday night and came away disappointed and a little perplexed by the direction that the film went. As a huge fan of the original Halloween & Halloween II, I admit that I was skeptical about Zombie's remake. After seeing his version of Halloween a few years ago, I was pleasantly surprised and pleased with the fact that he kept to the original storyline, for the most part and I enjoyed it. This one however, was hard to digest as a "Halloween" film considering that Michael was much more human in this film and looked like a hillbilly hobo in the scenes without his mask. Had this simply been a slasher movie by Zombie I would have enjoyed it much better.

The whole concept that this was supposed to be Michael Myers in a Halloween movie was hard for me to fathom. It just didn't feel right.....not to mention the fact that the ogre like grunts and moans coming from Michael didn't seem right either. Couple that with the direction Zombie took Loomis' character and the lack of the originial creepy theme music, and this movie just felt all wrong to a Halloween fan.
