    This.

The main reason why they have the 2 trolls go at it every morning. Not because they are knowledgeable, but because their illogical debates spark ratings for the audience that actually takes their opinions at face value.

You guys know they have something called Baseball Tonight that they run every day for an hour and then re-run once or twice after that, right?

      And Sunday Night Baseball?

      And Monday Night Baseball?

      And Wednesday Night Baseball?

And the coverage of the entire MLB Playoffs on ESPN Radio?

I get the argument about them ignoring hockey, but I really don't think they ignore MLB to the degree that people seem to think they do.

I think that sentiment is more directed to their flagship show.

I don't know, I don't watch it so what the hell do I know?

I seen some of espn before work and I noticed there was a argument between two guys about nfl punishments and stuff and it turned into a race argument. I was like wtf?

I think a lot of people have become so turned off because of what Sportscenter (and their early day shows) has become. Besides the NHL (and the NBA imo) they have knowledgeable shows about sports and plenty of games. Problem is, when the main attraction sucks, that makes people pay less attention to the rest of it.

I will say that I hope NBCSN can continue to grow. Would be nice to have a good show where I can just catch the highlights of games like Sportscenter used to do. I'll give ESPN this though, they have made me care more about soccer in recent years, so I know they have it in them to be acceptable with coverage.

Agreed with everything said in this thread. Another thing I don't think anyone has said is ESPIN's tremendous and obvious bias in reporting about some things.

I'm just looking for a show that will cover everything that's happening in sports, like Sportscenter used to do. I miss having a show that would fill me on all of that day's highlights and news. I'd like a program that'd show me all the baseball highlights from last night, inform me of Jeremy Lin's possible signing, Cliff Avril's franchise tag, so on and so forth. I thought the program running on ESPN 2 (First and Ten?) was meant for all the in-depth chatter and blabber on each topic. I'm wondering why that's happening on Sportscenter?

What I loved about Sportscenter before was the ability to wake up whenever I needed to (ranging from 6-12) and within any given hour, I could get all caught up on every highlight and story, like a semi-legitimate news source. I'm trying to imagine what things would be like if my local news station ignored half the news that occurred and instead only chose a few stories and had two people argue with each other about them.

So what you're looking for is what they now call ESPNEWS, which you said you unfortunately do not have on your cable package.

I agree with you, SportsCenter used to be a great format, but has moved more to the cable news type format where you have to take a side and yell about everything. It's one of the most annoying trends in general lately.

Yeah, you're right, ESPNEWS used to be my go-to station when I had cable. Now though, with a lot of the digital packages (at least at the three houses I most frequent), ESPNEWS seems to get left out of the loop. Even when I had cable, I swear there were times where even ESPNEWS began drifting toward non-highlight shows as well.

I just wish the primary station (ESPN) could do a better job of offering professional news and highlights.

My biggest problem is that because I have TWC, the NFLN is not accessible to me, NBCSN does a ****ty job covering the NFL and all I have is ESPN.

I wish TWC would get the NFLN already.

I remember when I first realized there was going to be a problem. 12 years ago when they switched from a 30 minute format to an hour long show, I was pumped. Seriously excited to see how many more highlights they'll be able to cram in, this would be awesome! And yet, somehow, someway, they actually showed fewer highlights in double the air time. It was an ominous sign...

Does anyone else feel that sportscenter got worst ever since they added the sidebar showing what was coming up. I used to like not knowing what was coming up and felt the need to watch the entire show, but now I can barely watch 5 minutes of it.
