Glad this is coming back to theaters, I hate that I missed it last time around and can't wait to see it in 3D.

re: James Cameron's "Avatar"
I thought it was supposed to be this summer, and I figured they just decided to ax the decision when I didn't see it running anywhere. Maybe it is supposed to be for next summer and I simply misremembered?Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: James Cameron's "Avatar"
The movie was paint-by-numbers in terms of story. It was cliched. But the selling point was the experience, and in that department, I feel it delivered. Cameron created a whole new world with this film, and there is some stroke of genius to that, whether people want to admit it or not. He's a filmmaker of great technological vision, and always has been.Comment

That's what sets it apart for me - the fact that Cameron took an overdone story and did it just as well, if not better, than the movies before him have all while turning it into a brand new experience.Comment

Re: James Cameron's "Avatar"
It was, but the thing with this movie that made it so great to me was that, no matter how much II knew what would happen based on the cliches and past experiences with similar stories...I still cared about the events as they happened, still felt on the edge of my seat expecting someone to die or something unexpected to happen.

Re: James Cameron's "Avatar"
I wasn't disagreeing with any of that. Just saying, in terms of the actual story and everything, it's nothing revolutionary. The movie is more about what they built around that story.Comment
