Anyone else's wife addicted to Twilight?
My wife had read the books through from start to finish 3 times now, owns the soundtrack on cd and has already been to see the movie 3 times and has pre-ordered the movie on DVD. Just about every other main female in my world (3 sisters in law, 2 sisters, mother in law) are all either reading or have read the books and seems as addicted as my wife.
I'm so sick of this lame vampire love story! Anyone else going through the same thing?Tags: None -

Not married. But the estrogen just flows @ work whenever that thing is mentioned. I don't get the female romanticism of vampires. I always thought women were attracted to money. One of my best friends a female absolutely loves that stuff. She's read the crap out of them books. Then she will sit there at night and talk about that stuff for a long time. Eventually, i gotta say, i am getting tired. i am going home. lolComment

My best friend is addicted to it, even though it makes her borderline depressed. I always know when she's reading the books because she'll be in one of those moods like "why won't anyone love me, I want love, wahhhh".Comment

My sister in law is even more obsessed than my wife and is even planning to include some of the songs from the soundtrack into her wedding next year. My sister in law arranges this football tipping comp for the whole family (rugby) we do each year and this year the comp is called Twilight vs midnight sun and the password is the names of some of the main characters. I told her it should be illegal to have such lame girlie things involved with such a holy tradition such as football tipping but she doesn't care.
My wife is a 30 year old accountant and a successful business women in her own right so i am shocked she would be so in love with a series that is basically a teenage love story about vampires written by a mormon.Comment

You know...I've heard that the books aren't that bad. I'm man enough to admit to liking some sappy movies and stories, and frankly, if they are well written, even with the vampire mythos bastardization (sunlight, garlic, stakes through the heart, etc) they might be worth reading.
Heck, my 16 year old cousin has enjoyed them, and he's read pretty much every long term fantasy series over the last couple decades and beyond (LOTR, Narnia, Song of Ice and Fire, Shannara, Harry Potter, Ender, and more).I may not have gone where I intended to go, but I think I have ended up where I needed to be. - Douglas Adams

I actually read the first book at my wife's insistance and really couldn't see the cause for the facination.
To me it was like a daytime soap in book form with vampires thrown in ie he stared at me and my heart stopped, then it went faster, then I couldn't think straight, then he smiled and i nearly fainted etc etc etc. The actually story is pretty short but they pad it out with so much of that other stuff the books end up being pretty thick (albeit with largish fonts). Each to their own i guess but i get so sick of hearing about it and their popularity seems to be growing not fading like i thought they would.....Comment

no. thank god. but this chubby cross-eyed asian girl from my bowling class loves it. she wears this shirt that says "Twilight" on the front. then "Forbidden fruits always taste the sweetest" or something on the back... so, so many jokes to make here...Texas. Football. All. Day.Comment

Not just Twilight (absolute addict) - but now teen vampire books in general. She's a big time reader, and all she's been reading lately are vampire books directed towards teens and young adults.
I saw Twilight 3 times with her, and she saw it one other time with a friend.Comment

I watched the movie(didn't even know there were books), was disappointed. I was expecting more action than there was, the "big" fight scene lasted like a minute.Comment
