Re: Anyone else's wife addicted to Twilight?
My wife, sister-in-law, cousins, etc all loved the books. They weren't obsessed but I don't have a problem with it. I haven't read any of the books (but hear about them from the wife) and I watched the first movie and thought it was good. I can't even remember if the couple even kissed in the movie. There isn't as much romance stuff in it and I thought the story, characters and action made it a good movie to watch. And I don't think I have to turn in my man card to admit it.
We'll be going to see the sequel this Saturday. Fights between vampires and werewolves sounds good enough to me. This isn't like Notebook. That was arguably the worst movie of all time.Comment

Re: Anyone else's wife addicted to Twilight?
My girlfriend has read the books and owns the first movie, but she's definitely not obsessed with it like a lot of these women are these days. Thank God too. I checked Facebook this morning and saw at least 15 updates with "OMG I loved New Moon!" or something like that. It's ridiculous.Comment

Went to the movies at 7:00 last night. Was already a crowd of people with lawn chairs waiting on the midnight showing.Comment

Re: Anyone else's wife addicted to Twilight?
I didn't know anything about Twilight until the DVD was about to come out. I borrowed it and I actually thought the movie was decent.
New Moon is probably going to make over 100 million by Monday morning.
Unfortunately Kristen Stewart has no charisma and it hurts the franchise. Shia LeBeouf better watch out because I could see Taylor Lautner taking some of the roles that would go to him.Comment

Re: Anyone else's wife addicted to Twilight?
I went to BK this afternoon & they had pics of these guys all over the windows. They were looking at me like "I know you wish you were me. & your woman wishes you were me too". When BK closes tonight, I'm going back there & throw some bricks thru the windows.Originally posted by VP Richard M. Thanks, dookies!Comment

I think it's cool to trash this stuff. I personally don't know how anyone can hate on something if they've never read the books or watched the movie. Don't we call those people fanboys on this site if they trash a game without actually playing it?

Lol, I only kid. I have no idea if the books or movies are any good, I just find all the squealing, love for Edward, and "Team Jacob" shirts slightly annoying.Comment

Re: Anyone else's wife addicted to Twilight?
I reluctantly went with a girl to watch this movie yesterday, 10 minutes in she starts crying, I can't believe how overhyped this **** is. It's so sappy and had to have been made by an emo that still lives with his mom. Sorry for the stereotype, but seriously it's so annoying how these movies catch on, and people start acting out this Twilight ****, Why are girls so obsessed with this ****. Apparently Vampires and Werewolves are a turn on?Comment

Re: Anyone else's wife addicted to Twilight?
My other half loves it. Read all the books, bought the first movie on Bluray etc.
We just got back from the cinema, watching New Moon and it wasn't bad. Actually, it was good.
Sure, it's not deep and it's meant to be easily understood and accessible but it's fun.
I thought the first movie was more of a good episode of a tv show than cinema worthy movie but the second was well worth it.
I don't share her passion by any means but I can see why it's so well liked. I find it funny though, there are so many guys I know and hear say things like, 'man I'm not watching Twilight it's so girly' or 'gay' or whatever they use to describe it and they say girls are stupid and brain washed by it etc, but guys don't want their girls to think that same way about sports and gaming so...
I also have another random thought after hearing a guy on the street yesterday being asked by his mate if he likes the whole Twilight thing. And he answered, 'I can't comment because I have never seen it'
My first thought was any guy who says they have never seen Twilight is either a liar or never had a woman during that time.Comment

I do agree with your comments about guys calling it girly, lame, dorky, etc... as they sit down to play Dragon Age: Origins or World of Warcraft... lol.Comment

This second movie was lousy and adheres to all the stereotypes these guys are talking about in this thread. It was a huge chick flick with lousy writing and almost no character development. Half the movie felt like a pity party. How many times am I supposed to listen to "I want to be with you but it's not safe" crap. It reeked of made for TV material. Thank goodness there were a few action scenes to keep me interested. There was nothing smart about this movie and you could really tell they switched directors. Bad move.
First movie was well worth of watching for anyone. Second movie is a big chick flick that guys should avoid. This isn't a renter. Not sure if many would watch this if it was free on TV.Comment

Re: Anyone else's wife addicted to Twilight?
My wife is obsessed. She went and saw NM last night with 20! frickin' women from work.
Let them have their fun. Women love Vampires, Men love Zombies. Hey, that sounds like a book I should write!
Vampires are typically sexually charged outcast with awesome hair and could care less about sports, videogames, or cars. They usually have alot of free time on there hands to take long walks with women and listen to stories of how their fathers no showed to their tea-parties, or how their older sister gets all the attention from guys because of her larger breasts....Vampires are kinda like that beatnik singer/songwriter that plays Monday nights at the local campus coffee shop. Artistic, single, and with a little 'womens touch' could be very cute and presentable to Mom and Dad.
Zombies have a one track mind....brains. Similar to men...sex. Zombies are on a endless journey and have a unquenchable thirst for their obsession. As soon as they consume brains, they begin thinking about how soon until they can devour and savor more brains! Kinda like men and sex.
As far as killing Zombies, most tools of destruction can be found in a guys favorite place...the garage! Chainsaws, hammers, screwdrivers, lawnmowers, cars, gasoline and matches. And of course the other preferred method of disposing of Zombies is GUNS!! or on occassion a crossbow, pellet gun, or slingshot.
Zombies frickin' rock!Comment
