    Single Cup Coffee Makers

The most well known is Keurig. Does anyone have one?

    my parents do.

I would have figured that the pods would have been like buying expensive razors, as they're proprietary, but they're actually not that expensive.

We had a Keurig at my old job, it was cool...not sure I'd pay for one myself though.

They're great. A good selection of K-cups (the little pods of coffee).

Got a Keurig at work, it's pretty nice. Nice that they have more than just coffee: we get green and chai tea, plus hot cocoa. Some are better than others, but the black coffee is fine, and it's super convenient.

Lol, yeah. Most mornings is two of the Espresso blend, and that does me for the day. Can't type if I drink any more.

My reviews would pretty much match yours. By 'others', yes, I did mean the Hot Cocoa; Swiss Miss waaay better.

                    Re: Single Cup Coffee Makers

About a month ago we got one at work. I love the thing!!! I found a 12-pack of K-cups at Market Basket for 5.99. I normally buy my coffee bagged and make it at home in the mornings. But I was going to DD sometimes on my break and lunch I was spending 5.00 per day most days on coffee at DD. Now that I have the Kurig at work I have a mug there and now spend alot less money....The coffee is great...I will say though if you drink alot of coffee at home and don't go out to DD or Starbucks, Then this wouldn't be a good thing..IMO

If you don't mind drinking one cup (9.25 oz. max) at a time versus having a large pot in front of you, then you may want to consider purchasing the one cup kind. The "Timothy's World Coffee, Midnight Magic, Extra Bold" is one of the best brands and kinds you can purchase. It's up there with the coffee you find at DD, McDonald's and when purchasing at home-Eight O' Clock Coffee (SB's coffee isn't great). You will not regret purchasing a one cup coffee maker.

                        Re: Single Cup Coffee Makers

I have had one at home for over a year and recently added a personal machine for myself in my office. I love them both, particularly since my wife only drinks decaf and I would drink a pot a day by myself if I brewed that much in the morning. The coffee offered in the K-cups is very good generally speaking but like all products you finds that some are better than others. With hundreds of options you can't really go wrong.

Just get a french press... they make the best coffee and they come in a bunch of different sizes. The only downside is the cleanup (just gotta dump the grounds and I inevitably have to wash it out every time), but I like the way the coffee tastes more than one-cup makers. Just grind it coarse and don't use super-hot water (it should be 5-10 degrees off boiling, and avoid actually boiling the water if possible, as it will taste better).

Didn't regret it. I bought the $129.99 Keurig machine yesterday at Bed Bath And Beyond (48 ounce reservoir, 5.25 oz, 7.25 oz, & 9.25 oz brew size options). Had one of the Timothy brands (not MM) and loved it. Everyone who has seen or tasted a cup is impressed. My little brother is buying one Monday.
