I didn't read that post with the list until now.
Sorry, this guy is made up. No way he's real. Who created this alias? Time to come out."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

Yeah, I am kind of leaning toward this theory as well. Especially, when he said his dream was to be on Madden Nation. It's pretty funny though he is doing a great job at portraying this demographic.Comment

Re: Asher roth? the next em
If you want him to expand his horizons, why not recommend him artists and releases that are actually current relevant to him instead of telling him to 'do his homework' on older acts who have not been really active on the scene? Trying to impose the remnants of a dead era onto a youth who has no idea about goes about it the wrong way. So is telling someone who has historically loved commercial rap music to jump headfirst into someone like the GZA, Talib Kweli (who finally learned to ride a beat) or Aesop Rock is asking to turn someone off.Comment

Re: Asher roth? the next em
Well yeah, but not 'relevant' in the sense that this kid might know who he is... you have to be a GZA/Wu-Tang fan to know that he dropped "Pro Tools" last year.
If he's loving him some Asher Roth, I don't think there's anything we can say ha. And Talib Kweli is pretty horrible... I hate that he always get name-dropped as a representative of 'real hip-hop'... and Mos Def needs to go back to rapping or stop releasing albums.
Nas and Jay are a good way to ease this dude into the real... then you can work backwards and he'll be listening to Lord Finesse in no time.Send your Midnight Release weirdo pics/videos to my new website: http://www.peopleofmidnightreleases.com!Comment

Re: Asher roth? the next em
And if Em's rhyme style is what he likes, then Pharoahe Monch is the dude... none of those other guys are even close flow-wise to Em.

Whatever the case, let's please stop talking about that waste of skin Asher Roth. Good lord.

Re: Asher roth? the next em
Eminem is extremely talented but hasn't released a decent album in years.
Asher Roth is mildly talented but his album was very mediocre. He's much more similar to Lupe Fiasco and Kanye West than Eminem. There voices are at times alike but they mostly sound very different... mostly.Comment
