Re: Mad Men set to return for Season 3 (MadMen)
I watched but was too tired to post after the encore airing. The scene with Sal and Kitty was hilarious to me. Sal was definitely in his element; however, I think Kitty is starting to suspect. Her behavior after his little performance was almost like she was traumatized - awesome scene.
I am really liking how they're developing the daughter's character. In some instances she seems more mature than Bets and I can see her becoming a "rebel" so to speak in the sense that she won't let anything get in the way of her dreams. On a side note, its ridiculous how Bobby is treated by everyone. He's like the forgotten one for no reason.

Was thinking..... is Don Draper en totale basically an "anti-hero"?Comment

Even without the focus on the family, so to speak, I still feel like whenever Bobby is on-screen that he is almost always getting the short of the stick.

Re: Mad Men set to return for Season 3 (MadMen)
Good episode last night..... so much going on. Loved DD's reaction to the meeting.
SpoilerOk, what was the deal with the prison guard seeing Draper as he was walking out and Draper was walking in.... considering the interchange they had earlier in the show?Comment

Re: Mad Men set to return for Season 3 (MadMen)
SpoilerThis episode was kinda cryptic.. between the dream sequences, the weird non-glance as the guard left with his wife, the ending... I need to go back and watch it again. No idea what happened with the guy and his wife... I didn't notice her holding a baby though -- maybe it didn't work out as well as Don said it would? Again, I might've just missed it, but thinking about it now, that's all I could come up with.
I loved that quote Don dropped to him... something like, "Life's pains all lie in the anticipation"... that was a great line, probably a famous quote that I've just never heard, but it resonated both in the episode and just for me personally. I love how Don always finds these random connections with people in these moments... he's normally the solitary type but always seems to connect with people regardless.
Peggy's about to shake **** up... Nice to see Duck back on the show too.Send your Midnight Release weirdo pics/videos to my new website: http://www.peopleofmidnightreleases.com!Comment

Spoiler
I'm just gonna come out say it, but I hate Duck. Dude is always scheming and he's just a slimy bastard. I'm surprised Peter didn't take the bait, but I don't want Peggy for fall for his shenanigans.

And that's the beauty of the show. If it produces some visceral reaction one way or another, you know they're doing the job. It will need much to keep the show as fresh and appealing as possible. Nothing in recent memory does that like Breaking Bad, but this is definitely a close second.Comment

Holy. Cow. What an awesome episode.
Spoiler
This episode was probably one of the best episodes of the series, absolutely amazing to watch. Don was A-Class and the whole British takeover thing was played great. When the new president got run over by the mower I almost died laughing - amazing scene.

Re: Mad Men set to return for Season 3 (MadMen)
Finally got to see this. Man.... so many things going on and they handled it all so well with the writing. You could take each one of the sub-plots and run a half hour show from each. Drape's sizing up of the British pips is tremendous. I think that's the 60's version of the "WTF look".
And I guess the disabilities act didn't take root until later!
Line of the show goes to.......... Sterling!Comment

Re: Mad Men set to return for Season 3 (MadMen)
Finally got around to watching it, and man, was it a great episode.
Sterling was money...The British are coming quip, and the just got his foot in the door remark....Very funny stuff.
Don was stellar as usual...I laughed when Peggy remarked that it was good champagne, and Don was straight-faced (as usual) and replied, "I dont think it is."
I really like Joan's character...She has such a tough facade, but in the end she has just as many foibles as the next person.
Really funny episode overall, even making the tragic scenes have laughs...Matthew Weiner is a genius.Comment

Yeah, Christina Hendricks' continued existence is an affront to the rest of womankind, basically... just ridiculous.
And yeah, I laughed hard at Don's "I don't think it is". There was another line that slayed me (don't think it was the foot line from Sterling)... gonna watch it again.
Here's the lucky guy she's marrying: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0034309/. I wonder if he feels all the knives everyone is stabbing into his heart mentally.Send your Midnight Release weirdo pics/videos to my new website: http://www.peopleofmidnightreleases.com!Comment
