Re: What movies have you seen recently? Part 1
Just finished "The Reflecting Pool"...it's an indie movie. I can't really go into what it's about because I'm afraid it'll violate the TOS here and I don't wanna do that...let's just say it's about a huge event that happened 9 years ago and we're near it's anniversary.
The acting in it isn't all that great but it was entertaining and something people like myself and tons of others have been waiting to see for quite some time. The amount of research Jarek Kupsc did for this movie is nuts...all from mainstream sources too. The story behind how this movie was made is amazing.Last edited by MizzouBravesFan; 08-30-2010, 06:01 AM.Patrick Mahomes > GodComment

"Rampage"
I don't even know what to say after watching it. Uwe Boll directed it, that's your first clue. Basically some kid goes nuts on his hometown, laces up kevlar and armor, 2 machine guns and kills everything and anything he sees.
Sadly enough, it's easily Boll's masterpiece of a film.Comment

This is a double offense. Stole something funny from the Brits again and another display of Hollywood originality. This only came out in '07!

Re: What movies have you seen recently? Part 1
But I wonder if you had seen the 07 version first if this one would have even appealed. It's sort of like if SNL would have done a show completely ripping off a Monty Python show and all of their skits. Actually looking up that trailer makes me want to see the 07 version again.
Also, I started watching The Orphanage but didn't have the time to finish. Gotta finish that thing.
And, not a movie, but the latest Steven Wright standup that I believe is on Netflix instant watch is great.... he hasn't lost a beat!Comment

Did they change up the second one a lot from the original?Comment

Re: What movies have you seen recently? Part 1
Crazy Heart - great movie with great acting throughout by everybody involved. A little on the depressing side, but it is a movie about a country music superstar so that's to be expected. Great music too.
The Shining - This is a genuinely freaky movie. The characters are crazy. The location is crazy. The stuff happening is crazy. Everything about this movie is just freaky and crazy. The pace of the movie is kind of slow, but it is so worth it just for the climax and to watch it unfold at such a deliberate pace instead of rushing right through it. Love it.

Re: What movies have you seen recently? Part 1
I thought it would be nice and slow, I'm glad that it's that way. I bet a lot of younger people are going to go in there hoping for it to be some big action movie and be sorely disappointed. I expect very little action in this movie.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment
