The Perfect Getaway

I've had this movie on my comp for awhile finally got around to seeing it. It's better than I thought it was gonna be but it's not saying too much. Beautiful setting in Hawaii definitely need to walk that hike.

I smelled that twist so early. I was telling my girl that you never saw them in the wedding video and you just knew a twist was coming and this was the only shocking one.

I took one for the team last week - went to watch Nicholas Sparks' The Best of Me. Tough to hate on the guy because he's clearly found himself a heck of a money-making formula. But it seems quite apparent he keeps a book-making checklist in his writer's nook.

-17 year old boy played by 25 year old man
-Male character working rugged job but with Harvard smarts
-Male character prefers isolation, but only in really cool areas (like the top of a watertower, where he can read his physics books in peace)
-Someone has to drive a classic pickup truck - preferably the antagonist
-Rain kiss scene
-"We can't be together"
-Daughter's parents who do not think Harvard smarts guy is good enough for daughter because he works on cars
-Hard work scene where it's too hot to keep one's shirt on
-Post-work scene where all the hard work makes guy want to take pants off and go for solo-dip in the pond
-Flashback scenes where era-specific details are only required through the first 30 seconds. Thereafter, latest tight-fitting runner's wardrobe from Athleta works just as well.
-Male character taken under wing by bitter old man, who then learns a little something about love along the way
-Evil high school jocks who usually try to casually murder male antagonist and/or won't stop sexually harassing female antagonist
-One incredible, mind-bending potential tragedy cascaded upon the next (ex: "I love you, but I have cancer, and you shot your friend in the head, but now you have to go to prison, we can't be together, but my kids died, but I have one left, but he crashed into a tree, and only a heart transplant can save him, but where would he get a heart, but you have a deadly interaction at a train track, etc...")

I'm not saying that's what happens in the movie but... that's what happens in the move.

Absolutely terrific diaglogue, but even more so, an amazingly well casted film. Everyone played their role to perfection. I wouldn't be surprised if Duvall wasn't given an Oscar nod, not that I pay that much attention to that any longer.

I really want to see this!

Let's Be Cops. It was alright. Not as good as I expected. I won't be buying this movie.

I ordered DotPotA 3D , the Ice Age christmas special 3D and Chuck Norris movies 3pack. Decided to hold off on Let's Be Cops for $13

I don't plan on seeing that one. I'm not sold on the trailer. I loved the original though. Funny movie. Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels were comedic gold in that one.

Gonna see "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1", when it comes out. I love "The Hunger Games". Saw the trailer. I can't wait.
