Re: What movies have you seen recently?
You're forgetting the entire Bay Area as well! Just saying, there's a lot of suspending disbelief in this film, which I guess is apropos since it has The Rock as the lead.Currently Playing:

Kingsman. It was alright...definitely had a few funny moments and lots of action sequences. Couple of over-the-top sequences that weren't really necessary.Comment

I remember that movie. Had Howard E. Rollins from a Soldier's Story and the TV series, In The Heat of The Night. He died way too young....great actor.Comment

Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Great movie, probably my 2nd favorite single hero movie behind The Dark Knight. The action scenes were great. I was kinda hoping thatSpoilerFury was dead for the rest of the movie.Comment

Re: What movies have you seen recently?
I figured someone in here would be able to help me....
There was a movie released a few years ago I believe, not remember exactly when but I am pretty sure I was in Colorado when it came out, so it would be within the last 4 years. I think it was an independent film.
I don't remember the exact details of the people depicted, but I believe they were Vikings, maybe? The younger son of the leader of a "tribe" (I guess?) is asked to find his older brother to come back and take over because the father is dying. The adventure to find the brother is pretty dark and the movie itself is pretty gritty.
Does anybody remember this one? I can't remember any actors names and I can't remember the movie title. I think the title may have been the name of a sword or something like that? Maybe I am way off.
Thanks to anyone who can point me in the right direction.

Re: What movies have you seen recently?
Decided to re-watch the Scream movies, I'm through Scream 2.
I have a question, only because I saw it play slightly differently in the show Gotham... whenever someone is holding somebody else hostage (basically as a shield) with a knife to their throat or a gun to their head, they always expose their heads clear as day as opposed to hiding behind the person's head, maybe slightly poking an eye out from their neck or something.
Is there an idea behind how this work's in the killer's favor? I'm thinking of only two possible ways it might:
1) Killing that person by shooting them in the head may spasm their finger muscles to pull the trigger or keep their hand clenched to slice their throat (again, see Gotham as the first example in which I saw this).
2) Gives people trying to shoot them a reason to possibly try and pull the trigger, so if they miss they either hit the hostage or miss everybody and the person has a reason to kill the hostage.
I think #2 makes very little sense in general, so I just don't see why they do this in general. As tends to be the case, they eventually are shot and the hostage is left unharmed.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: What movies have you seen recently?
I guess, but the tactic seems off to me. Like, they might as well be fully exposed is all I'm saying. I mean there are some movies wholly based in reality that portray this in such a light where we really don't care who the dude is (sometimes they're wearing a mask in fact), so I just don't know what they're going for with it. I just assumed there was some strategy involved.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Saw San Andreas last night and loved it. It was everything I was expecting.
Crazy/terrifying to think that that's going to happen some day.Boston Red Sox
