    Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel.

A lot of the charm and luster that carries over from the first evaporates with the more serious and CW-like miscommunications required to drive romantic plot threads, wrapping up in an unfulfilling manor.

I can't recommend the first one enough, the second is disappointing though.

      I enjoyed all of these.

Just got back from seeing Dope and I really, really liked it. Great story and some really good acting. Good commentary on race at the end as well.

7 Minutes. Bank heist film with an interesting presentation style. I thought the ending left a little bit to be desired, but if you're into bank heist films, you'll probably like it.

            Ted 2

This is what happens when you get to throw lots of money at a sequel, and thankfully many people were on board for this one, either as a cameo or main component of the story.

The plot never went more over the top than the first one, it wasn't ever too raunchy or ridiculous (the bad kind), and even though trailers showed moments I wish I first saw in the film itself, there were many other things to wholly laugh at in this film. I was only one of several people in the theater, but I was comfortable laughing out loud whenever anything is too funny, even if it's not a massive comedic moment (like the hard candies).

I think Ted 2 felt more Family Guy-ish than the first one, and of course that's great in itself (sadly there were a few references I didn't understand, though I knew it had to be regarding something pop culture). I'm glad Patrick Warburton got some legs to stand on with his character (pardon the pun), and Amanda Seyfried didn't make me miss Mila Kunis. Giovanni Ribisi was much funnier and more valuable in the first one, though (creepier too). The only thing missing in this film was a Taylor Lautner cameo. Speaking of which, I don't think this film had as good of an ending punch as the first one.

            Only other missed opportunity was...

            Spoiler

Probably on par with the first one, though I think less jokes fell flat in 2 than 1, so that was a plus on its own. I loved it.

EDIT: Figures, there was an after-credits scene and I didn't stick around for it. I'll find it online hopefully.

I can't stand theaters so I wait for it to come out on demand or DVD.

So I just saw Wedding Ringer last night. Not a bad movie. Wasn't as funny as I expected it to be, but still had it moments.

                Foxcatcher

Acted really well, especially Ruffalo but man this movie is awkward and unsettling and that's they wanted to do. Carrell is the master at it and they did a fantastic job of making Dupont creepy. Great cinematography as well, amazing shots of the Dupont ranch and wrestling rooms.

And kudos to Ruffalo and Tatum on the training they did, they looked like legit wrestlers. The matches, warm-ups, what a wrestler goes through looked authentic. Really enjoyed the technical stuff.

Interesting movie overall with some uncomfortable parts. Could see it being boring and too akward for some folks. Don't think I'll see this again though.

For some reason this movie makes me want to watch The Wrestler. Felt like the same tone.

I have yet to find it. I even thought that to myself while at the theater, but I was anxious to get home (was traveling back from a weekend on the 4th, and it took me two and a half hours to drive only 40 miles. I needed the break to see the movie, but after that I just had to get home man, haha.

                    I'll keep digging.

Yea same here, I saw it on Friday and I was rushing out afterwards because I had driven my mom to work and I needed to rush after the movie and go get her. And I had downloaded it off a website a buddy of mine told me about a year ago and I just went to see if it was there but the credits got cut off and the quality was ****ty.

                        John Wick

It was fun, but I wasn't in love with it. I enjoy how it was more grounded than I expected it to be (think Shoot 'Em Up), though it was still high-octane action and guns were blazing. Actually, what I liked more about the grounded element was it always seemed like at any moment any character's time was up, or anybody was vulnerable to a bullet wound at the very least. No need to monologue here and there if they didn't feel the timing was necessary. Getting things done in 100 minutes was what gave this the sweet spot.

Yet still, the story element was revenge-driven and nothing else really mattered, and IMO other movies have done the revenge game much better by adding more substance in general. Because a sequel is more than likely imminent given the way it finished and its box office draw, you'd think Chad Stahelski will find a different way of telling it either by escalating the action (which I don't hope for), finding a new style to the action (which I also don't hope for), or provide more story elements (which I do hope for). It's okay to add substance to these films without having to add too many convolutions, contrivances, or politics. Otherwise, if they only do more of the same, I got my fill right here.

I've always liked Keanu Reeves, and I'm sorry I haven't seen more of his darker films post-Matrix (mostly thinking of Constantine, A Scanner Darkly and 47 Ronin). I enjoyed Street Kings, and silently have always prayed that the Wachowski Sibs would make another Matrix film or two involving Neo. I would see that over another John Wick sequel every day, but let's get more Reeves films out there before he falls out of the action genre completely... which does include John Wick 2. Though personally, I would prefer a prequel above all else as that would be the best way to provide substance to this imminent film franchise.

Found it a bit predictable but I enjoyed Ant-Man. It's kinda nice in a way to have a simpler down to earth (literally) Marvel movie.

Stay for the mid and after credits scenes.
