Suicide Squad -- My expectations going in were checked due to the overall 'meh' impressions from friends and others, watched the Ext Ed cut on Blu Ray with my wife last night. We were entertained but both agree it could have been better. Harley Quinn saved the film for us both. Honestly, I could have just rented this one.

Finding Dory -- Charming, and was a great character exploration of Dory's memory condition. Good characters. Maybe not as good as Finding Nemo but just a point or two behind. Good stuff and looking forward to seeing it again. Good buy.

The Martian (Ext Version) on 4k Blu ray -- 4k version looks great....the thing with 4k and movies to me is not SO much the resolution difference (except when we're talking stuff actually shot in 4k, and especially things like nature films) but the contrast levels are so awesome. Anyway, I enjoyed the added scenes (not many, 10 minutes or less) and this will be my preferred version to watch going forward. Good buy.

Santa's Slay starring Goldberg as a murdering Santa who kills on Christmas.

It's from 2005, and I'm mad at myself for not discovering it sooner. Thank you, Wrestling with Wregret.

It's one of those it's so bad, it's good types of movies. Campy Christmas slasher movie with murders, breasts, a lot of bad jokes, and Goldberg dressed up as Santa. It's fun.

I watched the wWw review earlier this week. Was on the fence about it. But I'll probably watch it later tonight.

                    Black Caesar (1973)

Use the old WB gangster film formula in a blaxploitation setting with Fred "The Hammer" Williamson being smooth with a soundtrack by James Brown and you have a winner! I really loved this movie and I don't know why it took me so long in life to actually see it. Great stuff here. I'll have to check out the sequel Hell Up in Harlem.

Was pleasantly surprised by this one.

Speaking of animated movies, saw Moana as well and thought that was incredible. Beautiful animation and a solid story.

I thought this was better than Episode 7 simply because it felt new despite knowing the outcome. There was one scene that I took umbrage towards, but overall I thought this was great. I hope they continue to flesh out the "no-names" in the Star Wars universe to make it feel bigger than the Skywalkers and friends.

Going to see either Why Him or Office Christmas Party this afternoon.
Both haven't scored that well on RT but that doesn't always mean a lot to when it comes to comedies.

Office Christmas Party is hilarious. Over the top, but really well done, IMO.

Assassin's Creed. Good popcorn flick with a pretty decent story. The way they visually portrayed the interplay between the past and present was really quite seemless. Fassbender is really elevating his stardom and his acting resume. I could see him becoming a very very good dramatic actor as he ages.

Back in the day, I didn't put much thought into selecting a movie. If it had actors in it I liked, I watched it. If the back of the box seemed interesting, I watched it. If someone in my inner-circle liked it, I watched it. I have abandoned my old way of selecting movies and venture to RT for guidance, and have probably bypassed some fine entertainment because of a low %.

I don't know why I need a RT anyways, it doesn't take much to entertain me.
