I haven't seen the film, but I would agree yet disagree at the same time when it comes to seeing this one at the theaters. You know it's just going to be filled with people aged 15-25 who can't contain themselves during a party movie like this. I'd much rather see it in my own home personally... unless the atmosphere carries over well in the sense that we feel like we're a part of the party (but in a good way).

Anyway...
The Boy in the Striped Pajamas
For all of the films that try a little too brashly to depict days of war or acts of racism on screen and come away with the huge critics calling it a timepiece, this film decided to step aside and go for subtleties by telling a story within a story. This is a film about two young boys developing a friendship during the Holocaust era. It's emotionally riveting, and suitable enough for all ages that you will smile just as much as you'll hold your breath. Vera Farmiga also breaks out well in this. During the movie I could barely even tell it was her. Add yet another reason why she is one of the better middle-aged actresses out there today.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

The Adventures of TinTin
I've never read the original source material but i've seen the old cartoon so I have some familiarity with the main characters and the overall style of TinTin. I have to say this was a MAGNIFICENT film. The animation alone is just off the charts as about halfway through the movie I almost forgot that it was mo-cap animation! The real star of the show IMO was Andy Serkis as Captain Haddock. TinTin can be a bit of a bland character so you need someone a bit off the wall to play off of him and Serkis does a wonderful job as the perpetually drunk Haddock who plays a huge role in this flick as the treasure they're after involves his ancestor.
There are a lot of really neat moments but one jaw dropping sequence was the chase of the film's villain Rackham in Morocco. The camera shifts and the way the characters are flying about is so well done that one can't believe that this is Spielberg's first animated film. It's certainly directed with traditional film techniques in mind but some parts of the movie have fantastical/only in animation moments like when the plane Haddock, TinTin and his dog Snowy are in is heading for a crash landing and Haddock and Snowy are drinking big blobs of whiskey in zero G.
The story is pretty straightforward but it's a wonderful vehicle for the action that is present in the film. The other characters such as Thomson and Thompson are portrayed with great fervor and the villain Rackham ably played by Daniel Craig is an alpha bad guy as he's dastardly, cunning and at the same time has a charm to him. So TinTin has a lot going for it IMO. In fact i'd say it's probably the best animated film of 2011.

The Reunion. Actually liked this. John Cena plays his usual stoic, but dry sarcastic role. His brothers in this movie made it a fun watch. And Lela Loren is easy on the eyes.Comment

Colombiana: Amazing movie. I can't believe this only had a 6.2 on IMBD. I would give it a 7.5. Not going to spoil it but Zoe Saldana kicks *** in this movie and she is kinda hot even though I'm not that into super skinny chicks.Comment
