Lincoln. I loved it and Daniel Day Lewis knocks it out of the park with his performance. Must see."You got it man. I don't watch hockey." SidVish"I thought LeBron James was just going to be another addition to help me score."

Re: What movies have you seen recently?
Brick.
Another JGL staring role.
This film feels like Rian Johnson's Memento if Looper ends up being his Insomnia (for no reason but that it feels that way to me even if it makes no sense to compare his career to Nolan's).
As for the film: I mean, I just don't know what to say. It's weird but fascinating. At times feels all over the place but controlled as well. He really went all in on making his own noir film.
Enjoyed it. Not sure I loved it. Not sure how I feel about it except I want to read more about its creation and just dive into that world a bit.
And JGL is good as usual.
Sent from my mobile device.
I would feel more inclined to compare Looper to Memento, though. I think you can point to both of those as being the launching point for both directors. Insomnia was like Nolan's major introduction to the greater audience and in that way I can see similarities, but the tone and quality of the films are off. Then again you're probably focusing on something else.
I watched The Lookout for the first time a week or so ago. Not sure how to feel about that movie still.
Yes. The ending of some of the characters left me jaded a little bit with the movie, but fantastic series all around.

Universal Soldier: Regeneration - I was not expecting much at all the previous movies in this series were pretty bad. This however wasn't great but wasn't bad either. Had an ok story and some of the fight scenes were really well done.
Expendables 2 - It is what it is, over the top destruction and one liners.Texas Rangers/Saints/LSU/Tottenham Hotspur

Re: What movies have you seen recently?
Saw it about a month ago. Not quite sure how representative it is of how police officers work, but it was high energy throughout. I thought the ending could have been better...
SpoilerThe ending lost a little bit for me with the officer get pumped full of bullets by the gang members then somehow surviving.Comment

I watched Premium Rush on Blu-ray last night. Excellent movie. I thought everything about it was very well done. The picture on Blu-ray is superb. It is a very colorful film. Trees, buildings, taxi cabs, clothing. All very colorful and stands out well.
I definitely would watch it again. Want my wife to see it.
JGL has really grown up to be a damn good actor.Currently Playing:

Re: What movies have you seen recently?
I watched it too. It was pretty cool high-adrenaline, but did not make me fall in love with Michael Shannon. His villainy was very PG-like in nature. I sure hope he is written better for Man of Steel.
I also watched Contagion. Didn't care much for it.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: What movies have you seen recently?
I just saw Real Steel and I have to admit toward the end there the room got a little "dusty"."Maybe I can't win. But to beat me, he's going to have to kill me. And to kill me, he's gonna have to have the heart to stand in front of me. And to do that, he's got to be willing to die himself. I don't know if he's ready to do that."Comment

Re: What movies have you seen recently?
Lincoln. One of the best movies period I have seen.
Hyde Park on Hudson - Bill Murray was pretty good a FDR, but the story wasn't as good or historically accurate as Lincoln's was."If you have a linebacker on him, you might as well start singing their fight song." -- WSU coach Bill Doba on Reggie Bush
