Finally saw the Iron Claw. Most people who saw it probably didn't know how it ended (its obviously based on a true story, but the good thing about it is that with the cast such as Zac Efron, it attracts non wrestling fans too), but I went in knowing how dark it gets. Don't think I can see Jeremy Allen White without thinking how he looks like Gene Wilder.

It was better than I thought it'd be. I just figured some R Rated wrestling movie that's a tragedy would just be filled with violence, blood, swearing and everything else, but you wouldn't know it at times. Crazy part of it all is how this didn't even cover everything tragic that even happened.

Sucks that the Von Erichs whole legacy went that way. If not for everything that went down, who knows what the family legacy would've been like today. The way we think of the Harts and now think of the Anoa'i/Fatu family could've been the Von Erichs legacy even today, especially if we really had a huge amount of their family still around today in wrestling (there's only a few I think).

I hope someone does a movie like this on the Hart Family too.

Haven't seen that one yet, but the first one hits hard seeing a young innocent kid get turned into a different person due to factors they don't control, and seeing your childhood get wiped out as you grown up.

I watched it and near the end I found out it was based upon a real family, which I sort of suspected because all of it seemed too strange to be made up, LOL.

And I know it's not meant to be comedic, but that haircut Zach had, well it was a bit distracting (not too much so though) because I found it so funny and I know it's like I'm 12 or something but I just kept laughing about it...

Anyways, it's a worthwhile watch and also lends credibility to the idea that curses work, but not through some magic or anything, it's because the people believe them that they work...

Tried to watch The First Omen last night, and after about 50-55 minutes in (1:59 runtime) shut it off, I cannot remember a time when a movie absolutely bored me to tears.

I'm not going to mention any specifics in my time with the movie in case some still want to check it out, but the wife and myself went in excited to check this one out as we highly enjoyed the Omen flicks...well I didn't subject her to that garbage Omen 4...lol

The way they portrayed Fritz, if that is an accurate depiction, he definitely seemed like the typical "man's man", the hard nosed tough guy (they even had a line where he's basically saying none of his sons should be crying....at a funeral). Fittingly he was trained by Stu Hart who is another guy just like that. If you survived the Hart Dungeon, you're a great wrestler, but the physical, mental and emotional torture you probably went through must have been crazy, it really is like army training.

That could've been part of the "curse" too. Brushing off any sort of mental or emotional issue as being weak and blaming everything on a curse. All the pressure on wrestling really hurt the sons which led to their downfalls.

I'm surprised we don't get more wrestling movies. For all the hate it gets for being fake, isn't that why a movie would work? Movies aren't real either...Like I said, a movie like this on the Hart Family would be cool too. Not as much tragedy as the Von Erichs, but still tragic obviously with Owen mainly but others too dying prematurely.

There's so many great wrestling stories you could make films out of. I was thinking the other day you could make a live action fiilm about The Kliq, Hogan, Vince, Flair, etc. But you need the right director, and they can't be superficial puff pieces. They would have to be some Dark Side of The Ring level realness. I doubt those people will sign off on that.

I would love to see a movie on the Anoa'i bloodline in wrestling. That would be cool considering it has been over a dozen of them in all the wrestling promotions, with most of them in the WWE going back since the 1970s.

Closest we have now is Young Rock, though that obviously only focuses on him and his family, but it did give you a glimpse of how close the family was.

My 7 year old and I were staying in Oxford, AL for the State All Star Tournament this past weekend so to keep from sitting in the hotel Friday night I asked if he wanted to go watch Inside Out 2 or Garfield at the theater. To my surprise he chose Inside Out (I think it's the YouTube ads) and he really liked it but a lot of the messaging was probably over his head. It's a good movie that different age group can enjoy. I also appreciate that it was only about 90 minutes. Some of these movies are way too long these days.

That's one thing I like about "kid movies".

A 90 minute thing seems so short now given most movies are 2.5-3 hours.

                          Bad Boys: Ride or Die

It's was enjoyable. It's one of those where I'm not dissatisfied by spending a couple of hours watching it, but I also don't think that I will remember much about it in a year. It has some good actions sequences and a number of funny moments. It's just that, I don't know if it's just that Martin and Will are too old for this role now or that there just isn't really much left to do with the franchise, but it just didn't have quite the impact of the previous movies (especially the first 2).

This reboot of the Planet of Apes has been nothing short of exceptional.

I have been watching the original Planet of Apes films this past week (on Escape The Planet of the Apes right now) and while I love these movies and hold them dearly in my nostalgic heart the new movies have been amazing and blow away these dated films.

Honestly it is probably one of if not the most underrated collection of Sci Fi films ever.

                                Couldn’t agree more.

This is one reboot series where they NAILED each movie.

My ONLY gripe from the most recent one was that I wish it wouldn’t have taken place “generations” after Caesar’s death. When “War” ended, I was hoping they’d let his youngest son lead the next movie but aside from that, I thought it was great.

Hopefully they do another one.. The series has been too good and too successful to not make one, I just hope they don’t take their time with the next movie.
