Re: True Blood Season 2 Discussion

I think it's a matter of if you were turned while still a virgin, then b/c all damaged parts of your body are repaired, so would your hymen. So basically....she's screwed (bu-dum-baaa).

The whole Maryann thing is dragging, but then again, maybe it's supposed to. She's like a bad cold that won't go away. But, I agree, a crossover between the vamps and her is inevitable. Question is will she have the power to influence them. Additionally, Sookie could possibly read her and figure her out quickly.

Eric's in an interesting position because he also fits the mold of what Godric was talking about in terms of vamps not evolving over the centuries, and he worships Godric. I think he wants what Bill has and that includes.... his babe.

Oh good catch on the being a virgin before being turned thing.

What I'm wondering is if there's going to be a civil war between Godric's followers and the "non human friendly" vamps. Thinking back to another Sheriff in a past episode.. when Bill had killed the vampire.. that other guy was pretty much the complete opposite of Gordric. The other Sheriff would kill humans on a whim. And the cowboy vamp from Dallas seems to cringe at Gordric's every decision.. I feel internal problems in the future.

Also I'm surprised Bill didn't catch more flack for pretty much assaulting his maker. Isn't that some sort of crime?

No. She was a virgin before being a vamp, so she's apparently cursed to always be one because of that. But if she wasn't before hand, she'd be fine.

Ya, the thing is that it'll heal every time. And I thought the same thing about Bill, but then they mentioned several times that she released him.
          Spoiler

Well, I'm not so sure she's totatlly fine. (no, no, no you horn dogs around here.... not THAT kind of "fine"!)

if you remember the flashback in a recent episode, Bill got fed up with his maker and asked for his release. After a brief fight, she granted it to him. I admit I have not seen season 1 or read the books, but I would assume the granting of a release like that would mean he has no obligation whatsoever to her and that smashing her over the head with a giant plasma screen won't ruffle any feathers in the vampire community. Had it done so, it probably would've already been addressed anyway.

I don't think there was balance brought back because his maker was older than him maybe? Not sure.

Yeah I hear you guys and I remember that she released him, however a vampire on vampire crime is still a crime right.. I would think vampires wouldn't accept that sort of behavior from Bill.

unless they know that Lorena is the one that committed the crime, by "kidnapping" Bill

Also, Lorena and Bill are not under the "jurisdiction" of Godric's area. Godric was more upset with Lorena's behavior and her attempt to kill Sookie in his home. Not to mention, Godric's views are different than other sheriffs when it comes to humans.

Oh those silly, silly vampires and all of their "rules". Sometimes I feel like I'm watching Seinfeld!

So the older you are as a vampire, the stronger you are? I wonder if they are going to get into the origin of vampyrdom as is how the first one was turned, if he's still around and then I guess, if so, he the baddest *** on the block!

I believe the older you are the stronger you are. That's why Godric is so powerful.. at least that's what I thought I remembered hearing from the show.

Yeah I wonder if they'll get into the origins as well. That's a can of worms.

Godric is pretty old himself (according to Wiki it says he is the oldest vamp in the New World) and Eric was a viking so I would figure him to be pretty old himself.

I'm hoping that Eric gives Bill a beatdown one of these days. Bill is getting a little uppity, needs to be put back in his place.

I wonder how a Visigoth or whatever he is, he is a Germanic Barbarian of some type as far as I can tell, got placed as the Sherriff of Texas.

I wwonder what the Vampire Population is? Seems like there are only a few thousand per state, tops.

See above. I don't think it's possible, unless he takes him unaware. And even then it would have to be justified or he'll have to go to trial again...... which would suck (get it?).

I think the writing is moving toward Bill's "vamp morality" being questioned, mainly by himself. Remember, when he and Sookie were escaping, she mentioned something about "love" and he replied, "don't use words that I don't understand." I just took that as one in several personality alteration challenges he's been considering.

(Now, clearly the book readers of this series should spoiler wrap anything you may know about this from this point on.)

I see what you're saying but it was Eric she was escaping with, not Bill. the exchange went something like this:

                                [talking about Godric]
Sookie: He's your maker, isn't he?
Eric: Don't use words you don't understand.
Sookier: You have a lot of love for him, don't you?
                                Eric: Don't use words I don't understand.
